I'm just going off what I think the manager sees as priority.

It's a marathon not a sprint. Can't do what Chelsea have done, spend £200mill and then spend half a year trying to figure out what works.

I'd rather a solid foundation be built then individuals be taken care of.
For me, the GK is fundamental. If you dont have a good one everything else will fall apart.

I keep saying to my eldest daughter that it must play on the defenders' minds in front of him because he doesn't communicate with them or offer any inspiration.

As a defender if you have a solid goalkeeper to rely on, you can focus on your own game and not have to second guess what errors you expect them to make.

Will he flap it? If a player is running with the ball, what will he done? Can I trust that he'll be in the right place or is he going to wipe me out - think Son?

Look at Mina launching himself on his own goal line to clear the danger, knowing full well that pickford wouldn't deal with it

Completely agree.

But the way things are...would've you have spent a chunk of the budget on a keeper at the expense of not having one of James/Doucoure/Allan/Godfrey ?

Being honest...is Pickford that awful compared to last season's midfield? Is say no.

Does he need replacing? Yes.

But I think we can bide our time with that position. Especially if Carlo drops him for Lossl

He was still shaking his head and tutting when they had the free-kick about five minutes later, which is going from one extreme (not bothered) to another.

I simply don't feel that he has the mentality to really be a top goalkeeper.

This is a huge part of his problem, you only have to witness the stupid gurning, laughing, grinning when he cocks it up (again and again)! Needs dropping!

I would say a keeper is more desperate than Godfrey. In three weeks I would imagine we will have a full complement of centre backs available. We are still going to be facing Pickford throwing one in.
Nothing against the guy, was fully on board. But he appears to have a severe case of the yips and cannot trust his own instincts. It’s happened with Hart, Paul Robinson, Green, Jim Leighton and probablyDe Gea is going through it now. When it happens there is no way back at the top level

We get Donnarumma next summer. His contract expires then...

Time is running out so it looks like nobody is coming in to replace him. Looking at Pope yesterday for Burnley, that terrible blunder he made would have got him hung on here if it was Pickford that made it. Like Pickford he is probably too young. We need a mature established keeper from somewhere. Carlo says he will not speak to Pickford until he sees him after his return from the internationals. Would good will that do? Pickford is with us probably until the end of the season. Nobody is likely to forget Pickford's blunder in the Anfield derby, but Carlo surely can't throw Lossl into the next derby game on 17th Oct.

Saw some people online defending him a bit with the weather conditions and spin etc. Surely if dropping it is even a slight risk just palm it out of play?

Kloppesque.

Occam’s Razor says that he makes errors because he is error prone.

Great game in the opener. Deservedly was in the MOTM conversation. We are undefeated in spite of him and not due to his contribution, even giving him credit for the good saves he’s made along the way.
