just turned the TV on and they're still harping on about it. These type of challenges happen nearly every game every weekend, this death by media witch hunt is absolutely well out of order and I think we need to complain. Not good seeing this about one of ours.

It's dragging on in their end. Nothing we put out will stop them going on about it and in fact would give them even more to talk about and drag it out.
Again, that’s exactly my point. It’s dragging on with only one angle being pushed. There has been an opportunity to put our own spin on things - as spurs did last year with son for example - but for whatever reason we’ve chosen not to. Personally I’m not sure that is the right approach. Things like wijnaldums comments are completely out of order and those type of statements can take root in referees minds. In my workplace, I know that we would be saying right that’s enough of that, time to set the record straight, I’m a little disappointed that we haven’t.

Yeah the club shouldn't be allowing this to continue with no comment, there's people from everywhere laying into the lad, well out of order.

I don't see how the attention hurts Pickford. This is what he lives for. You can't get him out of the limelight during the match wanting to do something heroic. Now he's trending everywhere. He must be smiling like a Cheshire cat.

Seriously though, no, there's no point in the club making any kind of statement. Why would you want to draw more attention to it?

He lives for an entire national and almost global witch hunt accusing him of being an malicious and aggressive human being because he collided with a player during a game of football? He lives for him and his family receiving death threats? Okay mate.

The lad is human being like the rest of us, he’s a footballer and he earns loads of money but to say you don’t see how it hurts him is a bit strange, is he immune from the mental anxiety each and everyone of us suffer from on a daily basis? Only his on a grander scale given the whole country is writing stories about him being an aggressive and malicious person who sets out to intentionally injure players and he’s fearing for his and his girlfriends life?

Give over.

If anyone form the club monitors these forums.
Come on Everton, get a club statement released, the lad is being hung out to dry and your doing nothing to protect him, he has had personal threats and been made to look like the Yorkshire Rippers nastier brother.
Enough is enough here, show some balls and defend your player.

The spotlight has been on him for months anyway. If it affects him badly then that's horrible for him but could weirdly benefit us if he's taken out of the team.

Obviously i don't want that to happen, i want him to turn it around, but all this kopite media BS may actually benefit us. I doubt the players really take much interest in it, you'd hope they wouldn't. They'll just be focusing on Sunday. The new players from abroad must be wondering what kind of circus they've joined though.

Given the death threats him and his family have been receiving I highly doubt he hasn’t paid much interest in it tbh. His head will shot.

The RS lot are still keen on stirring things up. They won't be satisfied until some action is taken against Pickers. What they want is a long ban.

The RS lot still fail to acknowledge it was not deliberate, Even Carragher said it was not. Naturally the RS scum overlook the fouls by Robertson and Mane which were deliberate and should have red cards. But these incidents are completely airbrushed away by the media and the pundits never refer to them.

Frankly it shows the mentality of the RS supporters, notice no one at that [Poor language removed] club speak out against this, where are you Klopp?

That's the thing no one is mentioning in all this. It wasn't even a tackle so the intent issue is a nonsense. It was just a terrible piece of keeping from a keeper who is completely shot for confidence. How have no pundits noticed this yet?
I think that Rob Green analysis highlights that there was a tackle in there from Pickford. He's still in his 6 yard box when he spots where VVD is but still ran a few steps before doing the starfish but then needlessly went in with the tackle with his left leg. I know it's all spur of the moment stuff and he has to make split second decisions but that's exactly what he should be working on in training.
Pickford had 2 options of what he should have done.
a) stay on his line and protect his near post
b) come out to the ball and starfish to save a potential cross/shot
Adding a tackle in to the mix just wasn't necessary not because of the risk of injury but it massively increases the risk of a penalty if he gets it wrong.

I meant the other squad members re the injury. This media witch hunt is trying to make our whole squad feel like lowlife dirty scum, but i doubt they'll take interest in that.

Pickford and richy have been abused far more from the fallout and will no doubt be affected though. And that's what the kopite aim is, ramos had the same treatment and he laughed it off and baited them superbly.

True mate although I still feel we have a duty to publically protect our players who the media have thrown completely under the bus these last few days.

Look at how Wenger crying about Johnson led to us never getting penalties. The RS and their media acolytes know exactly what they are doing and we should be in there throwing a counter punch.

I dont want it being tit for tat but a simple "injuries happen in football and neither Jordan or Richarlison set it out hurt an opponent so the media need to turn it in" statement from the club or Ancelotti would be more than welcome.

Mourinho would be in his element you saw him after the Spurs - Utd game "Utd can not cry about VAR decisions".

Agree with you mate, as a club we are often accused of being " too nice", I feel this is one of them occasions, and certain clubs, usually in the top 6, will often take advantage, make capitol of this. Look on the other side of the coin, apart from our players, reputation of the club, ala Merson last night, if he meant what I think he meant.
There is also the thought of Liverpool ensuring all decisions go back to going their way again and worse VAR and referee's will I'm sure start treating us a bit differently if they think our players are dirtier than other clubs, that's human nature, no smoke without fire. Funny we happen to be top of the league at this time isn't it. :coffee:
