Which of us can honestly say we haven't tried to hurt someone's knee with our groin before. So you think Pickford did it deliberately??

I moved this to the correct thread but here are my thoughts:McCarthy
Johnstone
Meslier
Ramsdale
Ryan
Areola (bit of a tit if you ask me )
Thats off the top of my head
Oh add Guita (sp)
I moved this to the correct thread but here are my thoughts:
McCarthy is borderline. He is probably a worse shot stopper when Jordan is on his game but he hasn't been in 18 months and then you have to account for the errors.
Johnstone and Meslier I haven't seen much of obviously, but early reaction is they're better players.
Ramsdale isn't my favorite at all and he's such a big downgrade on Henderson that it'll hurt Sheffield United, but he has played better than Pickford the last year and change.
Ryan isn't great and is probably the closest.
Areola is fine and I don't know how you can call someone else a tit as a point in Jordan's favor.
Guaita was good last year. That one isn't even close.
Personally from your list I think there are maybe 1 or 2 maybes but by and large I'd want all of them starting over Pickford Sunday if I had the choice.
Yes, hoping & fingers crossed. He might provide some proper competition to Guaita who has had a bad case of Spanish fingers this season.
@Brisan123
I haven't watched every Palace game for the last season and whatever but whenever I have I've liked him. And the stats for him are really good even though I'm sure you'll tell me that is bogus.
My thing with Pickford is even if you took out all the errors and put them out of your mind, you'd still have one of the worst shot stoppers in the league since 2018/19 started. Add in the errors and it is just a liability in net.
I have family that support Palace@Brisan123

Guaita is a very confident keeper. Comes for crosses and gets them. Will catch rather than punch. Was excellent up until Feb last year, since then he has made three bad mistakes. Not bad enough to consider letting Hennessy in, but still obvious errors that shouldn’t have been made. Whenever Hennessy has had to come in it is noticeable how jittery the defence is. They have confidence in Guaita which is a big plus.Overall, I like him still, but he needs to sharpen up and hopefully Butlands’ presence can do that.@Brisan123

I mean I said in my post I wasn't using it as the full picture so I think we're good. For me, not bogus but not the full picture. Bit like the sniff test, I guess.
Ok but average is far from what Pickford is so as far as would I rather have Guaita or Pickford it still is no contest for the Palace man.I have family that support Palace
Its the one away game I GET to every season
They all say Guita is Average
@Alan Whittle said he is having a bad season
Is it? I think when you put the errors together with his now not so newly found struggles to make saves it is the only thing to say. That’s just a mental thing to say.

Mad that on the julien Lauren’s show With Gab MarcottiStyles make matches and this one was perfect: flamboyant France, full of flair but a little brittle, versus mighty West Germany, cynical, smart, and never to be underestimated.
The Schumacher incident has almost overshadowed what was an unbelievable game of football. Both sides had brilliant players. The French played off the cuff, but they always gave you a chance, and that was fatal against a team that you had to scrape off the pitch to defeat. If France knew how to defend a two-goal lead, they'd have won. But they went for a fourth and then Karl-Heinz Rummenigge came off the bench and that was the end.
That German side was incredibly calculating and cynical. They expected to beat Algeria by eight goals, Schumacher apparently predicting that they'd dedicate the seventh goal to their wives and the eighth to their dogs. They also filled condoms with water and bombed waiting journalists outside their hotel. How could you not love such fellows?
Poor Jordan is an amateur compared to these lads. He needs to drop some condom balloons on the heads of Julien Laurens and Graeme Souness for starters.
The times do a podcast with Hugh woozencroft and to be fair, all 4 on the show were diplomatic in terms of saying while Pickford should have been sent. The challenge was poor and clumsy. Not violent. The media witch hunt on Pickford has stepped over the line now. I thought they would talk about it as an incident, maybe say it was clumsy which is arguable honestly, but the media especially people who've taken Liverpool's side here are acting like it was borderline malicious, and it wasn't. It was a 50:50 challenge. A goalkeeper spreads himself out to block the ball. He does not get it every single time and there are bound to be collisions if both players are watching the ball. It's FOOTBALL, Pickford isn't supposed to get out of the way. Having said that it was like a fraction late and missed the ball, and if it was onside it would have been a penalty, and that should be the end of that. Even the FA on a second review said there was nothing to answer for, not that they needed to review a second time!
I was listening to The Totally Football show - someone recommended it, in the James thread, and one of the guys said he was angry about the challenge. Grow up! You can't pick and choose which tackles to get mad at. Didn't even mention the one on Allan.
Richarlison was rightly sent off for his late tackle, but I thought the one on Allan was worse, it was from behind and Allan could have done his Achilles and that was completely a intentional foul to stop the play. Just pull the shirt if you're going to do that, dont step on a lads achilles. Obviously the ref couldn't see it from where he was.
Wijnaldum's rant also made it worse, embarrassing honestly. Fine to say that its disappointing that VVD is out, but all the comments after that was like ammo for supporters to go after Pickford. Lad the game is over. Move on.
Anyways this is a dumb move overall from Liverpool - this will only make the Everton players stronger in my opinion. They're going to make it difficult for Liverpool to overtake them on the table.
