The second goal yesterday was as bad as the first for me. Made the wrong decision to come for the cross, then changed his mind and had to backtrack. Then made the wrong decision to stay on his line when the ball was headed across the 6 yard line. Then it went through him. If he stays on his line for the cross, he just comes out and punches the header across goal. Poor all round.

That fair enough mate, I always rated him and banged the drum to sign him before he came. I saw very little in his first year to convince me otherwise. But he’s been pony since the World Cup. Personally think he doesn’t the maturity or psychological resources to handle the profile.

I thought he was very good in his first season. Player of the year. Players players of the year. Young player of the year. when we extended his contract after the World Cup, the press had been talking about £100m move to Chelsea. (Obviously that was likely BS, but even a £50m move would have represented a good profit).

Since then he’s been utterly pony, and last season my goodwill ran out. Difficult to see us getting our money back now as everyone knows he’s a liability.

My ex always said he was another Joe Hart - thought himself better than he really is/was. I can now see where she was coming from.
I agree with this. I think the same, but not the Joe Hart in his prime. The Joe Hart after his crisis of confidence. In his prime, Hart was world class. Pickford isn't half the keeper he thinks he is and the sooner we get the defense sorted then we can get shut of him

No doubt at times he has been a match winner for us and England but his errors are coming far too frequently for us now. If he does something like that against the RS or City then that’s going to mean we get drubbed. The confidence just drains out of the team.

I think we’re in need of a top class GK if we want to really challenge.

It's funny really, my partner who doesn't really know much about football will often say things that are very perceptive, just like that. We can get wrapped up in the world of football and miss things that are quite obvious to those outside of it.
