Great to see you back to something approaching your best. You had a dip in form not unlike our beloved team but your resurgence seems to have matched ours, too. Long may both continue.
Not that it matters too much but it bothers me a bit, this narrative that Pickford single-handedly won us this game.
The Mendy and long-range Barnes efforts were pretty comfortable for him even if those saves looked good. The close-ranger from Barnes was a legit worldy, though. Certainly wasn’t the Alamo, as the media would have us believe, mind.

You know what la, I’m made up for him. The media agenda of him, the fact he’s been class for 18months and still they have this “debate” for number 1, he has won us the 6 points the last two games, he deserved that. Happy he’s getting recognition, hopefully it can continue.
He was and is top class and today shown that but he has been all season. Still don’t get the people that are oddly against keeping him, saying he’s mediocre at best etc etc. Weird agenda, suppose a player can’t please everyone, even when he has worldlies there’s always whoppers that don’t like to be proved wrong. Player of the season for me.
