Getting Pickford the way we did was the perfect storm of him coming from a relegated team and us not quite hitting our full on downward spiral yet

A lot of favourable elements all came together at just the right time and it led to us getting England's future #1

Our next keeper will be of a much lower standard because we're now crap and don't have the pull for anything other than a Begovic level guy

People listing all these keepers we haven't got a smoked salmon's chance in heck of getting

Trust me, sell him anytime soon and we're only going to get a lesser keeper in. So long as we can retain him it's worth letting him get the World Cup under his belt. Combining that with a hopeful upturn in our own form will not only get us more money for Pickford when he goes but might actually set us up to be able to get a decent keeper to replace him with as well

If Pickford goes in the summer window then we're not getting better. No chance

What non news this is. As far as i can see, Jordan did nithing wrong, except being dumb enough to hitting bars in the same areas these altercations keep happening. Thats not enough to rip on him for however, understandable he wants to hit the town with friends.

Hes done a lot of goofy shait, but this isnt it.

Pickford’s form for England is very good though. How many other England keepers have kept mistakes to a minimum, made big saves in crucial moments, and saved penalties? Tournament mentality is a completely different thing so it’s no surprise Southgate keeps picking him.

As for big saves for Everton, wasn’t there one just in the Villa game when there was a standing ovation for his save it was so good?

I was very critical of Pickford under Ancelotti because he had that spell where he was dropping balls and making an error a game, but since Olsen came in he’s been very very good.

He’s probably held to a higher standard than any other keeper though. If Ramsdale makes a few saves he gets lauded as englands number 1 despite the many many mistakes he’s making. Pickford can have huge periods without a mistake yet the second he makes a small one his international role is cast in doubt. If he was making the types of errors that Lloris Allison even Schemichal make all the time he’d be under huge pressure. The fact he ain’t shows how consistent he’s been recently.

I really don't care about any of the England stuff.

I think he's under more pressure because we've seen him have error strewn periods in a way most of those other guys haven't.

He did have a good save against Villa but also allowed a fairly soft goal so that wouldn't be really what I'm looking for. I don't think he's put together a whole game in a long while.

I'm never a fan of erratic keepers. You want a nice dependable rather dull individual in goal. Speaks when necessary to the defense but otherwise just gets on with the job. Nigel Martyn was a classic example of this and by far the best keeper we have had after Big Nev. Great distribution is ok to a degree but how many goals have we scored due to this, compared to those we have let in due to poor positioning, poor communication, and a lack of command in the area. I wouldn't be upset if we clawed back the 25-30 million he cost if we're able to move him on.

Given his notoriety in that part of the country, his judgement to go to a bar there is questionable. Should he be able to go? Of course. But in the real world, it's questionable to do so. That said, I think this is a non story.
