That was a good save off Ronaldo at the end, no doubt about it. He got it wide of the goal as well, so no easy rebound.

It was a tremendous save and ended up being a match winning save which is why he got my motm

I didn't think he made "outstanding " saves, tbh. He concentrated well, for once, and was alert to danger in the first half hour.

With our spending controlled by what we sell next season and the seasons to come, we have to cash in on him in this World Cup summer.

I hope Everton are at least preparing to do that and have already sounded Pope out to come here if they get relegated and we dont.

Dave, I think Burnley would try to fleece in that deal should it come to pass making any profit from selling Pickers next to nothing or non existent.

I could write a lot about what my thoughts are on pickford. Other aspects of his game are not great imo. His shot stopping, like sat, is his biggest plus. But the other aspects as mentioned like commanding your box at set pieces and corners. Could he have come for burnleys first goal from the corner? He tends to hug the line. Do opposition managers study this.

That is about my only problem. He is not convincing and maybe not confident coming off his line. Need a keeper that will relieve the CBs at set pieces and especially corners. If the CBs don't win it then it is a chance on goal. I like the way Pope comes off his line but he is not as good as Pickford at the other things. Pickford is a good keeper but if he could add domination of his 6yd box then that would take him up another level

Mental gymnastics to discredit a solid performance v United. You know you can give credit where its due and not have your little fragile ego hurt by acknowledging a decent game. You can still go back to disliking him etc. It doesn't mean you are wrong.

The media will have been absolutely fuming when Lamaord came out with that. Doesn’t fit the agenda at all. They better mention ‘surely in contention to be England’s number 1 at the world cup’ Aaron Ramsdale a good few times soon just to make them feel better about the whole thing

He hardly put a foot wrong all season.

Most of our problems come from the garbage in front of him, being exposed by what has by and large been a piss poor midfield in front of them.

He really is the least of our problems.

We have some very strange fans and that`s being kind.

When the striker is on an angle and Pickford is diving out at him, he’s honestly in my view the best keeper in the league at this sort of save, he’s absolutely brilliant at them, hardly ever gets dinked or beaten, or gives a pen away (Chelsea one last season the only one I can remember him misjudging)

He’s got some work to do on clearing set pieces but honestly he’s had a good season in my view

I watched those two "characters" in goal for City and Liverpool yesterday and thought to myself that if Pickford played anything like Ederson did he'd have been slated left, right, and centre. Sky laughed off the Brazilian's incompetence as "nerves" - but only head-banger goalkeepers make the kind of crazy decisions "under pressure" that Ederson did yesterday. He wasn't miles out of his goal ready to be chipped by Alexander-Arnold because he was nervous. He was out there because of Guardiola's ideology and because Ederson's clueless about optimal goalkeeping positioning. "Ball-playing" goalkeeper my arse.
