And Branthwaite at £20mill based on 1 good season in the Dutch league after a £1mill investment is very good business for a player who'd play 10 games at most for us next season

Indeed. We aren't exactly swimming in great goalkeepers battling for a place. The cautionary tale is that Leicester sold Schmeichel and their defense went off a cliff. When you consider the calibre of some of their attacking players, it was the defense that sent them down and the understudy GK clearly wasn't up to the job.

But they got no money for Schmeichel and ended up playing ward who was garbage. Because they didn’t have a lot of money. Be like us playing Lonergan next season.

If we got 60mil then it’s a different story

As much as I still think he makes poor errors I still think he is Englands number one. A good shot stopper and therefore he’s worth at least 60m.

Don't know for sure, but could that be a clause that has been written into his shiny new contract ? You know the" if a Champions League team comes in for me clause". I sincerely hope not, but would anyone be surprised.

Pickford was arguably our most consistent player the past two seasons and Branthwaite will be like a new signing, if good enough. We already have a squad who should comfortablely obtain 40 points and now a manager able to achieve it.

Unfortunately that's all we can hope for next season.

Name me a keeper for £30m or less who wants to play for us who makes us better?

The only way we should entertain selling Pickford is if they offered double that and we thought we could get someone almost as good but also have the money to buy a striker which we desperately need.

The only circumstance I would consider selling Pickford would be to a club like Man Utd where we can get cash for him, plus Henderson as replacement.

But I really don't think we should be selling Pickford

Why are you questioning my statement? For £30m we would be worse off if we sold Pickford 100%

You then say in your next post that £50m would be good business, which I don’t disagree with if we spend it well which would be a slightly worse goalkeeper but reinforce other areas we desperately need

I’d still rather keep him and sell almost any other player before him
