Ramsdale and Pope are better thoughA quick search shows he is now joint fifth for clean sheets for England.
Only Shilton, Hart, Seaman and Banks ahead. Joint with Clemence on 27 clean sheets.
All of these have more appearances than JP.
But we honestly can't sell our best player. It will see us go down. We sold richy and didnt invest in better players. We sold Gordon and Kean but that moneys disappeared. What will happen with the Pickford money? Nothing wise, im sure of it. And then we have also lost the best keeper in the league (in my humble opinion, though I appreciate im biased here)"Possibly"... no doubt about it.
Well he won’t be because it’s a non story according to youSo will Pickford.
This is why we would be insane to sell him. We will end up going the same way as Leicester if we do
The standard of this video is every save is important. Which is fair I supposed but then whoever had more saves takes the cake.Be hard pressed to find any keeper with that many important saves in a season
Be crazy to sell
Meaning what? The standard of this video is every save is important. Which is fair I supposed but then whoever had more saves takes the cake.
I know you weren't actually saying this, but if we don't need a top keeper because a proportion of his good work will be in ganes we lose, then presumably we don't need a good striker because some of his goals will be in games, we lose, anyway. As good as we can get in every position is the target, and keeping our few quality birds in the hand is a safer policy that swapping them for two in the bush.Just for balance a lot of the saves in the video were in games we lost anyway.
Think we are maybe bigging him up too much. A lot of the saves he was called on to make were because we spent so much time in our own half because we had no attack to speak of. Get the badly needed front men and hopefully the keeper won't be called upon so often. Saw a post quoting that the pen save v Leicester City and the late save v Bournemouth kept us up. In reality it was a very poor penalty and 9 out of 10 competent keepers save the Bournemouth effort.I know you weren't actually saying this, but if we don't need a top keeper because a proportion of his good work will be in ganes we lose, then presumably we don't need a good striker because some of his goals will be in games, we lose, anyway. Because we lost so many games...irrelevant...had crucial saves in games we either drew or won...towards the end of the season, the maddison penalty save was crucial and yes it was a bad penalty, but a lot of keepers would have gamble on one side or the other whereas he stayed on his feet. He is at his peaked now for sure, and will be there for the next 3 or 4 seasons before maybe starting to decline...massive gamble if we decide to sell and huge pressure on thelwell to get it right with the replacement.Just for balance a lot of the saves in the video were in games we lost anyway.
