Richard Wright...what a buffoon

Richard Wright
was ruled out of Everton's FA Cup fourth-round replay at Chelsea after suffering a freak injury during the warm-up. Wright ignored a notice warning him not to practise in the goalmouth and promptly fell over the sign, suffering a twisted ankle. He also damaged his shoulder falling through a loft as he was trying to pack away his suitcases.
\they were just his good points too ...... lol

Made a few great saves and don't put either of the 1st or 2nd goals on him. He was terrible for the 3rd, obviously.

What I do think is that he's been erratic now for the last few weeks. That's not to say he's been bad, just that there's been some of the old tendencies creeping back into his game and he's much better when he's just calm and collected and getting on with it.
His habit of saving a good shot but punching or palming the ball back towards the middle of our goal has to stop too - a great shot stopper, but little thought inconsistent saves us in some games - blows the game in others ,,,,

When has he blown the game over the last few years?

Spurs away the shot he palmed straight back to Son, he never catches the ball much does he when saving the ball either ....he is just a shot stopper-never commands his area - although he has improved that a bit ......

Also someone tell him he is not captain any more either ....
How many times does he even parry long shots to him along the ground. It’s like he parries it then jumps on it, when surely it’s easy to catch it first time, drives me insane watching him flap at every ball into the box

I'd hardly say that was blowing the game personally, the scuffed shot from van Dead, yes. Onions and that.

Can't think of a keeper who does catch the ball when saving shots in the modern game. The football used these is very light, difficult to catch at speed and prone to swerving more than older balls according to Neville Southall and he says it's safer to palm it away than try to catch it.

should have done better with the corner that led to pen, and obviously the 3rd goal was on him, but he made loads of good saves yesterday and overall he's consistently one of our better players.

better to do it vs city than a crucial game with a team around us

He’s just had a bad game, he’s saved us plenty over the years and everyone has a bad one sometimes. My only gripe with him is that he seems to spend half his time moaning or shouting at our other players, can’t be arsed with that at all.
He needs to pack that in sharpish imo. Whether it is with us or somewhere else he is going to end up saying something to a teammate and it will seriously backfire on him one day.

I for one am happy he shouts at players, or vice/verse. thats what i want to see. players who care.
Not when he is gifting goals away like last night, also I don't think the players are too keen on it as Tarkowski told him to put a lid on it at one point. Communication is obviously a good thing but he does go a little OTT at times.

Yeah, some of you guys need to watch football other than Everton.

When he flipped out at Patterson the other day, that was absurd.

He had every right to get on Harrison and Beto for giving up that corner before the goal however. Both pulled out of challenges 50 yards from goal, one pass later we’ve conceded a corner.
