ps: there's no way he's on 5k a week

I just said that because that's like the upper limit of actual youth prospects

Massive amount of head wobbling required. Ferguson had been in prison before we signed him - did he deserve a chance?

It'll be a short term thing to get him fit and maybe a move to a league one side. He's not going to feature in first team squad ever again, he is clearly not of that standard.

By the same token though the club is failing massively when someone like Big Nev is not welcome because he has views contrary to BK.
our badge is a historic drunk tank

He served 3 months in prison in Scotland for in between his loan spell and signing permanently.

I'm sorry mate I'm confused here , are you talking about when Duncan was sent to nick for assaulting the lad on the pitch, Ferguson did about 3 months ? Because Duncan was definitely an Everton player then unless I've got Alzheimer's kicking in seriously

The offence was when he was at Rangers. But he served time for it inbetween the loan spell and permanent signing.

This is brilliant. We are a club out on its own when it comes to gestures like this. In age when football turns of the basis of finance and humanity is often a second consideration our club is remarkable.

A lad with big connections at club, who grew up and had connections there has made a mistake is down on his luck and his career is down the toilet, every other club would have taken the moral and financial high ground, instead we open our arms role up our sleeves and give the lad very chance to have a career.

Other clubs can talk about being special but we prove it in things like this we do. Imagine other players out there seeing this, i know where i would want to play.

Really proud of Everton here.

I think it's a bad move.

We're a football club first, one that hasn't won a trophy for 22 years.

As much as we like to cling on to small successes/PR exercises for the club, I'm of the belief that Everton need to concentrate on the football, and leave the community stuff to EITC and the clubs directors.

We're supporters of the club, so our natural instinct is to support but whatever way we spin it, Jose Baxter is taking a contract and another's place in the U23 squad. Every minute he gets, is a minute less for Tom Davies v2. It's also a very clear irrefutable statement that there's a tolerance at Everton to drug abuse.

It's jobs for the boys.

Baxter got a contract at Oldham because Stubbs had a word.
Baxter got a move to Sheff United because Weir.
Baxter got a move back to Everton because Kenwright/Unsworth.

All the above isn't conjecture.

Everyone deserves a second chance, especially with the disclaimer of youth but there's a line and a point when you need to wake up.

Let's get it right - he's a professional footballer here. He's had every opportunity in life.

My instinct is that the lad is a wrong'un. He's spat in the faces of too many. Suspended twice in nine months at 23/24 years of age.

All that said, I trust David Unsworth. I just hope there isn't external factors/pressures involved here due to Baxter's influence in Liverpool.

For clarity Duncan made his deal permanent prior to Christmas 1994 , won the Fa Cup 20th May 1995 and after appeal served his 3 months October 1995 .
