I honestly don’t know what to think? Would he come considering he already has history (a bad one?) with the Friedkin’s? He would certainly attract the attention, which is something we could do with.

Said it a few times in think he’s coming down the hill not going up it so there are issues around that but im not having he’s finished personally . The bloke won the conference league 2 years ago , the 26th trophy of his career .

I’ve always loved him , his public arrogance and hatred of that lot appeals to me . Probably says more about me than him but it’s the truth.

The manager style can be divisive , certainly amongst the squad but in the short term is usually successful and not only seems quite the ride but is also probably what our lot need.

Despite all that I’d love a young progressive , exciting , engaging manager but I’ve no idea who that is . I am strongly of the opinion that as much as anything need someone that can get the crowd up for this and can engage them as we are absolutely shot at the minute. Mourinho would probably fit that bill .

There are almost certainly managers I’d rather see at Everton than mourinho not least 2004/05 mourinho but I certainly don’t think 2025 Everton are in any position to turn our nose up at him .
Ideally we need a 40 year old Jose Mourinho.

One a bit older with a point to prove to a few doubters would be worth a shot given our current situation.

Remember him at Spurs, gets sacked on the day of a cup final. Causes mayhem and chaos. Raffa Mk2. Also never had a team like ours,. Cheque book manager.

Exactly , I’m loath to let perfect be the enemy of good . Like you I’d love the early 2000’s version of mourinho and if there is someone with his talent ahd swagger then let’s get him in but given where this club is now I’d take this version his his 60’s

If we want someone now it'll have to be someone out of work. We can't waste time and money arguing with other clubs.

Comical some of the shouts in here.

Obvious Chelsea & Madrid history aside… Finished 2nd with an absolutely cack United and got Spurs European football whilst getting both teams to cup finals (winning with United, sacked before the final by Spurs). Also won a trophy with Roma recently.

To suggest we’re better than him given some of the managers we’ve had in the last 10 years.

Delusion beyond comprehension.
You’re just removing all the context there though? He ‘got spurs european football’? I mean technically right I suppose, but probably worth noting they’d played in the champions league final 6 months before he took over isn’t it? They finished 4th the season before he went and 4th again the season after he left, but 6th and 7th while he was there.

Nobody’s saying he’s beneath us, it’s just an awful awful fit for where we are as a club. Peoples obsession with the idea that a ‘winner’ can just come in and change everything just because they’ve won some trophies in the past is so weird. People said it about koeman, ancelotti, Benitez and lampard, as well as loads of players, and despite it never even coming close to happening they just repeat it every time as if it has merit. Delusion is the word, you’re right.
