Who is this mystical manager or choice of managers you speak of?

It’s not vague at all. I’m not a DoF and I’m not going to pretend to be. I could say oh we need to go and get Kjetil Knutsen or whatever because I’ve read his name but what would be the point? I’m talking about the profile I think we need, I haven’t got a clue if there’s someone who fits it managing in the German second tier have I? Asking people to name candidates is the worst thing about these things, especially because nobody ever says ‘ok fair enough’ when you do.

I would be very sceptical to be honest. It would either go brilliantly well or catastrophically wrong. No in between.

I don’t even think it’d be that, I reckon it would just be incredibly ‘meh’. He’d improve us a bit but the football wouldn’t be great and the age of the squad wouldn’t come down, we’d finish 10th twice and he’d see his arse and say the club wasn’t backing him and that’d be the end of that.

You pay well above the going rate usually for hope of an instant success and if it goes pear shaped, it really bites you.
