Personally think you are over thinking it and over complicating it.Ancelotti was suited to managing Real Madrid a lot more than he was to managing Everton, and the same applies to Mourinho. There is nothing at all in his CV that suggests he’s the man to improve a club like us. As I said in another thread earlier, it’s literally the exact opposite of what all the clubs people supposedly think we should copy - you know, the ones that are universally recognised as being well run - would do, and entirely in keeping with the mad ‘ooh he was good 10 years ago and is really famous let’s get him’ way we’ve done business to that’s left us circling the drain.

If he fancied the challenge of managing Everton we’d be mental to say no.
As for improving us, are you actually serious? You think a manager of this calibre couldn’t improve Everton?
There is no 100% tried and trusted method of hiring a manager. It either works or it doesn’t.
Other clubs go through managers like loo roll too. It’s not just us who fail with managers.
We have just chosen particularly bad the last 3 times, but Lampard was worth a try if we were going for the younger manager either way something to prove.
Get past the drama of it all. He is a manager, we are a PL football club. It could easily be something which worked.
I'd be surprised if any other manager earned more than 59% in a poll here.
Truth.Loves us as crowd, loves GP, would lap it up and use the Everton name in spadefulls.
He wouldn't be a little Everton manager like the turds we've had recently
Very limited Cheese On Toast votes (I was one). He's polarising.I'd be surprised if any other manager earned more than 59% in a poll here.
Sorry I should have said 'squads'. I don't think he's a manager who builds. I think he comes in to teams who should be winning trophies and helps them do that.
This “over the hill” nonsense.
He’s 4 years younger than Ancelotti.
This “there’s a reason he’s at Galatasaray”.
On the same basis no top club would have given Ancelotti a job after taking Everton.
Hes a serial winner and as others have said, he sets high standards.
I don’t honestly believe we will get him, but the fact that people are using lame and tired reasons not to are rather comical.
Every manager will be. Even Carlo, if he was mooted.Very limited Cheese On Toast votes (I was one). He's polarising.
Hasn’t he said he won’t manage a team battling relegation ?
One look at our squad……
No chance he comes here
Personally I would like us to get a manager with a track record of doing what we need from them. Someone who has improved teams from the bottom half, coaches players to be better, has fresh ideas. Mourinho for me is a manager you get - or got, when he was at his peak - to take you from finishing top 4 to actually winning things. Same as ancelotti. I don’t believe he’s a manager to take you from 17th to around the top 6.Who is the right fit then in your eyes?
You have listed a load of managers (Ancelotti notwithstanding) who can’t claim to be winners, especially as a manager.
The club can’t gamble on a trendy manager like potter who will buckle under the strain of a club the size of Everton and the expectation that goes with it.
The club above all else needs dragging forward and a big enough personality to do that and I am not sure many of them exist in football anymore.
I have grave doubts about the age profile of the team he would build. But it is hard to level anything else at him.
