He’s not too old, he’s just not the manager he once was. His methods clearly don’t produce the results they once did.

He’s at Galatasaray because despite still having some of the winning juice left, he’s known to be disruptive and difficult to work with.

I don’t want him because he isn’t conducive with stabilising the club on and off the field.

his job
is to stabilise us on the field mate

Personally I would like us to get a manager with a track record of doing what we need from them. Someone who has improved teams from the bottom half, coaches players to be better, has fresh ideas. Mourinho for me is a manager you get - or got, when he was at his peak - to take you from finishing top 4 to actually winning things. Same as ancelotti. I don’t believe he’s a manager to take you from 17th to around the top 6.
Such a vague answer, which says so much without actually saying anything.

Who is this mystical manager or choice of managers you speak of?

Mourinho. I'm in.

If TFG and Mourinho kiss and make up, would that not be a positive sign?

My only worry is Mourinho might be nearer the end of his high profile career rather than peak. But let's make it a successful swansong for him if it's he's the man.

Personally think you are over thinking it and over complicating it.

If he fancied the challenge of managing Everton we’d be mental to say no.

As for improving us, are you actually serious? You think a manager of this calibre couldn’t improve Everton? 😂

There is no 100% tried and trusted method of hiring a manager. It either works or it doesn’t.

Other clubs go through managers like loo roll too. It’s not just us who fail with managers.

We have just chosen particularly bad the last 3 times, but Lampard was worth a try if we were going for the younger manager with something to prove.

Get past the drama of it all. He is a manager, we are a PL football club. It could easily be something which worked.
Well i’d hardly say I was overthinking it or need to get past the drama, I’m just commenting on a message board with my opinion. I’m under no illusions that what I say makes the slightest bit of difference to what the club will do so it doesn’t really matter either way does it? I’m just saying what I think, you can agree, disagree or ignore it, it makes no odds. I don’t mean he literally couldn’t improve us from where we are now, obviously. I mean I think other managers are better suited to what we need. To me what you’re talking about is the definition of small time - ‘please come to us with your mythical winning ability and make us relevant because you’re so famous’- when we need an actual plan of how to improve and make it sustainable not just another Hollywood manager. But like I say, it’s just an opinion, maybe he’d be ace, how the hell would I know?
