Transfer Rumour Juan Mata

balague like a lot of Journalists that at a time had some ITK contacts overplayed it mate and for years he has not had anything of note, thats the funny thing with journalists/pundits etc, if they don't play it smart then the people pasisng info will just cut them out

yep, he was very sourced up around the time of the Arteta move to Arsenal. His info has dried up in comparison in the last few years - though I do think he still has some good contacts

How would our midfield line up with Mata and Barkley as I want both of them in the first 11

Mata one side, Barks as the 10

or

Mata as the 10, Barks deeper

But, that's presuming we play 4-2-3-1.

RK also uses 4-3-3 and sometimes 3-5-2 if needs be, depending on the game.

I imagine Ross would drop back to a cdm role whilst Mata is #10 I can't see Koeman dropping ross

one of Koemans first interviews had a fair bit about Barkley in it mate, from memory anyway, basically said he's a key part of the team etc, and will need to see what midifled or attacking position suits him best when they get to work together.

So basically opens up any of the centre mid, attacking mid/central or wide as options, which i love the idea that Koeman hasn't pidegeon holed him before gettign to work with him properly in training

Ross can't play wide, that's been proved.

He does suit any of the central roles in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, though, bar the holding role in the former.

I honestly don't see Koeman being here long term - ie more than 3 years mate, it makes absolutely no sense for him to build a team for whoever comes after him, he will want to win and increase his reputaion and the best way for him to do so is to buy the ready made player

Its not just to build his rep. We now have a treasure chest that allows us to buy ready made players rather than fingers crossed potential. His first job is too naturally strengthen the team therefore ready made players are the obvious choice because we now can do it. Potential will still come in but not as first choice and we already have plenty of potential at the club. Its just the natural way to go and I doubt it is solely to do with building his rep. To build his rep is also making Everton better so win win.

I doubt it will suit hi m best mate, but i honestly don't think it has been prooved, he has had a manager who i don't believe was capable of improving anything about his game, under different coaching we don't know what he will become eventually position wise.

when i said about wide btw was actually taklking about wide in the 4-3-3 sense not as a winger - badly phrased by me i know, even if he could play as a winger it would be a waste frankly

If we play 3-5-2, id probably look at how wales use that system with mata in the position ramsey plays snd barkley a little furthar up in the bale position

I agree, it's the difference betwen a manager who wants to win regardless of how and a mamnager who is a dreamer tbh and only wants to win under certain exact parameters (phillosophy)
