He's a player who thrives when he's the main man, IMO.

He was at Chelsea until Mourinho went there, and at United he was under Moyes in his first few months.

Still hasn't done bad in terms of his return over the past two years under LVG considering 'limited' game time.

If he signs, he'll be great for younger players to learn off and will also provide that bit of craft and guile we've been lacking for years

If we do as looks likely sign Mata, a big key is to get in a top defensive midfielder

Actually hope we raid United this summer for there 'cast-offs' several players they have who are on the fringe or likely to be out of favour are top quality and have suffered through the managers and systems they've used

Would take Mata (21m OMG yes please), Schniederlin (20m wtf yes) and Blind (on those above fees then looking at maybe 10m?) Imagine getting those three in for the same fee we would basically be recieving for Stones

Add those three players to the squad minus stones and then say Koeman still has 100m+ to spend with wages not being a limiting factor and we could end with a very good squad indeed

Think myself that Mata will be the first one that sets the dominos rolling

If he was to sign I don't even think he will be our biggest signing in this window.
