judge us at the end of the transfer window – not now

A 9? You are very easily pleased with lower mid table signing and couple of kids. It barely hits a 5

I'm a realist though and the scale changes dependent on where we are competing. We didn't have a great deal to spend and we had an entire squad that was in dire need of an overhaul.

The squad isn't totally fixed but it's got a lot better than I expected it to. This is a win, in my view.

We've given ourselves a fighting chance of being comfortable this season. More reminiscent of a Moyes transfer window than one under fahrad moshiri. I'd actually be ecstatic if Lampard could deliver a lower mid-table finish. So yeah maybe I'm easily pleased.

It depends what you are judging though. Are you judging based purely on a players skill and performance , a scale of Rondon all the way to Messi?
Or does this judgement include for other factors such as transfer budget; number of positions covered, players moved on or loaned, the quality of the squad before and after?

If it is the former, then we’re Everton, it will never be more than a 3 or 4.

If it is the latter, then it’s been reasonably successful. By the time the window closes, we will have signed eight or nine players in one window. We will also have moved on 6 or 7 first team players, most of who e offered nothing ( this could rise to 8 or 9 tomorrow).

We have also retained Gordon and DCL, both of which looked likely to leave at certain points in the summer.

On paper a 6, maybe a 7.

Tark - Good business to replace Keane
Coady - Very good loan to cover Mina
Onana - Seems like he’ll be decent
Maupay - Lower half PL plodder of a CF
Vinagre - Don’t know but cover in a thin area at least

If it ends with just Gana and Garner tomorrow we are screwed

I judge it on has the signings progressed us. It's marginal better at best when you consider our top scorer left and we haven't replaced him

They have saved Gana for deadline day. Anyone expecting anything more is kidding themselves.

Have to get another forward in. One injury and Rondon is the sole attacking back up on the pitch which simply isn't good enough.

Would still apply even if Maupay had been available as he'd have started and I assume McNeill would've dropped down and on what we've seen so far he'd be no supersub.
