Kenwright leaving rumour

I think the old guard as been a significant impediment to what Moshiri has wanted to do. Once Kenwright and Woods are gone, I think changes will come fairly rapidly.

Completely agree. Let's not forget that Kenwright is the Chairman of the club. Moshiri is just the majority shareholder. The transfer policy of the last couple of years of seeking out the best players of relegated or relegation threatened clubs (trying to bag a bargain) whilst staying overly loyal to 'past it' stalwarts has ultimately landed us in this mess and the buck stops with the chairman.

Credit to him for guiding is through the dark days, but I can don't think he has ever moved on from being in survival mode.

Let's see what happens when the Mosh gets the full reins. I for one welcome it and you can't achieve anything without ambition and the Mosh has it by the bucketload.

Strange one because had he not appointed Moyes we would have been relegated under his complete inertia st the top of our club. On the other hand he had the foresight to appoint Moyes so who knows.

Kenwright as Chairman is more or less an honorary role. Moshiri decided to fire Martinez, hire Koeman as manager and hire Walsh as DOF.

There is no doubt that as far as the transfer policy of the last few years goes, the buck stops with Moshiri (at the highest level). Kenwright has had very little influence over that situation.

He presently owns 49.9% of issued shares which makes him the major shareholder (not majority)

Do we know this for a fact? If so, why has Kenwright been stealing a wage for the last two years?

I genuinely don't believe that Moshiri is as hands on as most people think he is. The club employs experts to excel in their specialist areas. Walsh was hired for his ability to spot talent. Moshiri just sanctions the spend as recommended by his experts. Hindsight is a great thing, but every decision you mention was supported by most people at the time.
