Conference.....

What can EFC achieve this season? Mirallas: "From the moment I arrived, one of the things that came up is that we haven't had a great start in the last few seasons. Last night has given us a good start, hopefully I can be involved on Saturday."

On his countryman Fellaini's performance against United: "Everyone could see what an influence he had on the game and what we brings to the side. He brings so much in attack and defence. Chatting with the players this morning, everyone considers that to be one of his top performances for the club."

Mirallas: "Every young player learns something every day. He's a young guy and can get better if he keeps working hard with that sam mentality."

How big a part did Fellaini play in you coming to EFC? "Without a doubt it helped me a lot in making my decision. He told me Everton was a big club with a family spirit around the place. Not only did he help me coming here, but he'll help me settle in. It's nice to have a fellow countryman around the place."

Were you close to signing for Arsenal? "Discussions were at quite an advanced stage, but it was totally down to me to make the decision. From the word go I was impressed with how much the manager wanted me here. What's important to me is to get plenty of times on the field. I think I will the opportunity to play more games and more minutes with Everton. Obviously Marouane was a factor too."

What can you achieve here? "First and foremost settle in, make sure I'm available for selection and ready when called upon. Next targets, playing as many games as possible and scoring goals"

How quickly can you adapt to English football? "I've had chats with the manager about this. He's told me some players need a long time and others settle in straight away. If I get the chance to play on Saturday I'll be able to give you a better answer and see what the pace of the game is like."

Mirallas on EFC last night: "The way the fans really get behind the team, even if there is a misplaced pass, is fantastic. The way the fans got behind the team last night was really impressive"

THIS THIS THIS THIS and THIS.

Im gonna be honest, some Everton fans at the game, piss me off, they piss me off enough that 1 day im gonna explode and destroy someone. They sit there for 90minutes and cry and moan, they call for Subs after 10 fcking minutes, they offer NO praise. Some will say thats their right, ok fair enough, but I go the game to support the team, thru the good and bad, if its going badly I shout positive things, saying negative things is NEVER gonna help.

But last Night, Goodison was superb, to a man, as Kevin says, missplaced passes were clapped, the thought was there, well done Son, that kinda thing, of course it helped that we dominated that first half so much, but I was happy to be a blue last night, not just cos we won, but cos the Everton fanbase made me proud to be 1 of them.

Sorry for offtopics moools.

Did you see the one touch passing we were doing all night long? Hot damn.

I seriously doubt it, but then I expect us to use him as more of a support player, rather than our main man. That's Jelavic.

He should at the very least be entertainment. He's two-footed, very fast and highly skilful. We don't get that often.

Yeah, I think you're right, although if Jelavic picks up an injury I think he'll become our main striker.

If he gets played on the right wing it'll prob make it harder for him to score too as he seems to like to shoot on his right foot most of the time.

I hope he's got a decent cross on him although in the Exectutioner's Blog article he didn't have a good cross completion rate.

Stats can be misleading though, I don't think he was used by Olympiakos to get many crosses in so I guess I shouldn't judge him on that stat.

I'm just gonna be excited to see a player in our team who wants to run at people. I just hope Moyes doesn't over shackle him with defensive responsibility too much if he looks good at dribbling.

I think he will probably play on the right of midfield, in place of Osman or Coleman, as Osman has a tendancy to move to a more central midfield area and Coleman's crossing needs work

He is very two footed though. He can and has scored good goals with his left foot, comfortably. His right is his preferred foot though, true.

We'll see though. I'm optimistic about him but not overly expectant.

Yeah, I'm the same as you. Bit worried that some fans are going to expect too much from him, straight away, due to his boss youtube vids though.

Think Kevvie's best fit for us will be on the right in Osman's role.

He's most effective coming in from the left, but we can't move Pienaar because of his link play with Baines.

His next best position would be behind Jelavic but now that Felli has made that his own, it rules that out.

Hopefully being a natural right footer he can adapt on the right?

He plays RW for Belgium so he won't need to adapt.

LW, RW and behind the striker would all be fairly natural to him.

4-2-3-1 is what I think Moyes will play most of this season with Mirallas playing as any one of three as they will most likely interchange through the game.

I've got boss vids of me megging me nana on the beach last summer in Rhyl, sent a few to Ancelotti too, must have got lost in the French post though.
