I hope you're right mate, from the little I've seen of him (youtube) and with Pienaar and Naismith already in we would have a real strong attacking team and he is exactly the kind of player we have needed for years. I'd say a blend of Donovan and Adam Johnson.

This is why I'd doubt it. Those two are close to the club and it's in the club's interest to be seen to be chasing players of this quality for a bit of cash right after selling Rodwell...whilst never commenting on it themselves so they dont get accused of failing to deliver. The one thing that Kenwright IS rich in is media contacts and pull.

I would be shocked if fox or lcab hadn't heard something more solid than they've let on about so far...whilst also bearing in mind lcabs point about not scaring the horses with too much talk of it.

Actually kind of depends even still.
Not saying he wouldn't be more likely to go Arsenal or Bayern. On the rare occasion though, we would be offering pretty much guaranteed first team football and a friend of his to play with (Fellaini) while still giving him the opportunity to play in the Premier League. Possibly with less pressure than at those clubs.
Depends on a players mindset. But I like to think we have a pull for players like him, we are a step up from the greek league.
90% of the time a player would pick the Cl team, of course. They are exceptions, though. Stuff like which country their based in, and how likely they are to get a game and the wages can sway things too. I remember Fjortoft picking Swindon over the Austrian champions Rapid Vienna because he loved England so much.
Problem is there's not really any critrea where we have one over arsenal. We just have to hope they don't want him.

I do think Fellaini being with us is a good point though
Probably about 1,000 from me.
Wigan got a few big big south americans stars on the promise of regular football in a competive league and a chance to be in the shop window for bigger clubs. It does happen.
