He was back on the halfway line wasn't he with Barry, probably walks back there for every pen thinking Baines has got this.

...and of course defenders have to be in position and ready in case the penalty is missed and leads to an opposition breakaway. Have a look at most pens...some defenders are always back in their own half.

It was clearly not something which was arranged in training. He put pressure on himself by taking it from Baines, and would have put pressure on Baines if He or Jagielka took the ball back off him. Play for the bloody team.

Agree that it's worse than getting sent off, making a mistake, losing a goal extra though cause he's gone against the team and ignored three players and missed it and in the end probably cost us the game, not on.

I must admit, I have always viewed him in somewhat blue tinted spectacles. But he is a bit of a muppet isn't he?
