Btw didn't Sanchez do something similar for Arsenal against QPR - missed a penalty when it was meant to be Cazorla taking it? Of course they won the match, and even think Sanchez might have scored to make up for it, so no dropped points which probably helps.

Don't remember that much of a fuss about in the press - was there on the Arsenal boards @red1 @49ers ?

Yeah I recall that. But didn't Arsenal still win?

That bit probably makes all the difference. Had we won last night I wouldn't give 2 hoots that Mirallas missed and acted bellendish.

We don't win anymore though. That's well 2013/2014 season.

I do wonder how we'd all react if this wasn't coupled with the story of him reevaluating his future in the summer as his contract winds down.

Sanchez probably did it a bit more politely as well, perhaps asking Cazorla if it he could take it versus grabbling the ball and putting it on the spot.

But as you say, players/managers are forgiven a lot when you still get 3 points.

Banies should have taken the pen no 2 ways about it but 1 thing I don't understand is people on here saying coz he missed a pen he wants to leave the club. I don't get that 1 bit I don't think he stepped up to take the pen with the intension to miss it I think he is frustrated with the way the team has been performing and wanted to step up and try and change things not because he wants to leave the club. His performance against west ham is that a performance of somebody that is unhappy and wants to leave the club? Give the lad a break we need him to get out of this bad run of form

A weeks a long time in football, his performance against west ham was excellent and he pretty much single handedly got us back in the game.
but that was before the interest from dortmund and athletico.

cant blame him for wanting to play his prime years in a side that can win trophies, that's not gonna happen any time soon at goodison

Is there interest from them or just paper talk?
