Kevin Mirallas

Hmmmm. Isn't harassing and nullifying the opponent's attacking threats the main part of a DM's job? What "freedom to play" is being curtailed here? And furthermore, if it's part of a DM's job to negate the opponent's attacking threat, isn't it vital that he can do that WITHOUT getting sent off?

I'm not trying to berate Barry here - he's been excellent this season. I'm just saying that it is hypocritical to slate one player for getting sent off but then claim that another player doing the same thing is ok because he plays a different position.

Barry was stupid to get sent off at the end mate but context needed as well.

Not 30 minutes into a game for starters...

Plus Barry had been tasked from the off to nibble and niggle at Costa to wind him up. It worked. He dived in on Fabregas and that was a mistake.

Mirallas loses his head so quickly at times and it's a shame because he can be so good, and it's obvious he's putting the effort in, it's just how he applies that effort is what costs him.

I've seem at least 3 occasions this week of players diving and not getting booked, it pee'd me off big time he got booked for that last week. He was stupid going in for the challenge when he knew he was on a yellow. But I love kev, he's just ace

I'm a Kev fan, but I'm surprised that nobody's commented on his complete lack of reaction when Rom scored on Saturday. He showed
absolutely no emotion, at all.

Did anyone else notice?

Much as he was a complete bell for the second yellow last week, I thought he was very hard done by for the first.

Especially in light of other incidents we have seen go unpunished since.

Where was he sat?

There wasn't really a reaction from Del either. Don't think it means anything...

I'm sure RM had Del on the side ready to bring on before Rom scored. Once the goal went in RM made him sit back down. Gotta be tough for the lad. I would like to see him being used a bit more than he is this half of the season. Lennin is gonna be knackered soon playing all these games

Indeed Del was ready to come on.

It is hopefully a sign of Bobby's new pragmatism that he changed his plan and decided not to chuck another attacker on after we had taken a lead late in the game :)
