Hmmmm. Isn't harassing and nullifying the opponent's attacking threats the main part of a DM's job? What "freedom to play" is being curtailed here? And furthermore, if it's part of a DM's job to negate the opponent's attacking threat, isn't it vital that he can do that WITHOUT getting sent off?
I'm not trying to berate Barry here - he's been excellent this season. I'm just saying that it is hypocritical to slate one player for getting sent off but then claim that another player doing the same thing is ok because he plays a different position.
Barry was stupid to get sent off at the end mate but context needed as well.
Not 30 minutes into a game for starters...
Plus Barry had been tasked from the off to nibble and niggle at Costa to wind him up. It worked. He dived in on Fabregas and that was a mistake.
Mirallas loses his head so quickly at times and it's a shame because he can be so good, and it's obvious he's putting the effort in, it's just how he applies that effort is what costs him.
