A footballer kicks another footballer and gets sent off. It has happened before and it will happen again. Doesn't warrant this scrutiny.
Why a player of Mirellas quality can't get a game is the big question. I would have thought he was good enough to get a game. We didn't sell him so he must have been in the manager's plans. That only leaves the player himself. Could be on his way come the next transfer window.
The tackle may have been born out of frustration that he has not been playing, but as you mention some people are reading far too much into it.
It's the fact that he's not playing, as you rightfully mention, which warrants more questions as the situation just doesn't
look or
feel right.
It may simply and purely be tactical a tactical decision on behalf of Martinez, with a more narrow approach as we've seen this season and before.
However, when we scored last Saturday he looked pretty bereft of any emotion. While others were celebrating, he had a huge frown on his mug.
Again that may purely be frustration that he's not on the pitch, yet it could possibly highlight that he's not fully committed to the team.
Could it suggest issues in the dressing room? There were issues last season but they seemed to be resolved; but I'm just speculating.
I think we all hoped that when Mirallas signed a new contract it would be the end to the speculation, but it seems to still be present.
We've been craving for wide players for many a year now, so it's a bit strange that we've got five (including Pienaar) but none of them play.
