Kevin Mirallas

He'd be in the team if he'd made himself indispensable last season.

Too many times he sulked last season and it meant we effectively played with 10 men. There's no point being brilliant one game then awful the next four at this level - and that has made in Mirallas what he is; instead of indispensable, he's unreliable.

Agree - but the same could be said for a couple of other players we have playing, with less talent.

This is spot on. He can do brilliant things, but he often flatters to deceive. Id much prefer a solid 7/10 each week than a player that plays at such a sporadic level. Until he can prove he can be consistent then he should just be an option from the bench.

hmm he finished as our what, 2nd top goalscorer or something last season?

11 goals all together, in less games than someone like naismith.

And way more than Kone, who obviously played less games due to injury but it still applies.

Statistic wise it was his best season last season, i think people would look back on it way more fondly if the penalty incident hadn't happened.

We could have let a lot more goals in if he was playing as well, especially with Baines out, it's been a bit on the negative side seeing Martinez leave him on the bench but at the same time we've all been crying out for that.

The teams been performing quite well though, so can see why he keeps mostly the same side for the past few games.

Can't win though, he makes changes and people moan he's always tinkering and we need to keep the same team for consecutive games, yet when he does that they moan he needs to switch it up

He's just been convinced to sign a new contract probably promised we'd strengthen and he'd be a mainstay in the team when fit, neither has happened I can understand why he's a bit peed off still no excuse for what he did though

tonight was his chance to force himself back into the first XI. i understand his frustration, but he should have been thinking of the wider picture when coming on.

no way would i sell him though, he's our best winger.

He should have been thinking of the team. Tonight wasn't just a night for him to stake a claim but also to offer the squad respite and have a player of quality the manager can call upon against decent opposition. Now the manager will have to bring a player like Lennon or Deulofeu on when he needn't have had to.

He's very selfish and you cant fashion team spirit with a character like him around.

i dont understand your comment, do you not belive he has said that about the champions league?
I absolutely believe he has said it,but the fact he left Olympiacos who had qualified the year he left and went on to make the knock out stages until 2014, and if the press are to be believed chose us over Arsenal who virtually every year qualify.I find it to say the least odd that he's continually quoted as saying he want's to play in the CL. When all he had to do was.A. stay where he was or B. (at the very least) sit on the bench at the Emirates to fulfil his ambitions.

if he was genuinly offered a contract at Arsenal, i dont believe for one minute he would choose us over them. they may have shown interest but i couldnt imagine saying no to them. coming to us from olympiacos obviously would be beneficial for him. he just hasnt looked arsed for a long time to me, going the games you can actually see it more aswell. barely runs and sulks if he doesnt get a pass. sooner we get rid the better.
