Love Kev me, yeah hes a moody little wingnut, but hes a talented player who can change games when in the mood, we dont have many of those players IMO.

really? when was the last time he changed a game? loads of potential but based on actual performances, hes sh*t. but no one actually says that, we like to just constantly say how crap Barry and Howard are even though they are playing well.

tonight was his chance to force himself back into the first XI. i understand his frustration, but he should have been thinking of the wider picture when coming on.

no way would i sell him though, he's our best winger.

Seriously though, what the hell kind of a substitution was that anyway. Really failing to see the point in bringing on a player with 60 seconds remaining when the score is at 0 - 0.

if he was genuinly offered a contract at Arsenal, i dont believe for one minute he would choose us over them. they may have shown interest but i couldnt imagine saying no to them. coming to us from olympiacos obviously would be beneficial for him. he just hasnt looked arsed for a long time to me, going the games you can actually see it more aswell. barely runs and sulks if he doesnt get a pass. sooner we get rid the better.
I suppose we'll never know 100% the truth and he might have been lying, but this http://www.espnfc.com/story/1138635/kevin-mirallas-david-moyes-convinced-me-to-join-everton if accurate is revealing.A lot of other reports at the time suggested he chose us over Arsenal because he'd get more playing time.Quite ironic really.

Have you ever took a moment and thought that it might be because he isn't ?

He has all the talent in the world, but i agree with you his application is sometimes wanting.

Ability wise easily one of our best players, and really should be playing ahead of the likes of kone and naismith when they're playing 'wide'

what he did agaist swansea was stupid and hopefully he's punished for it, because he took out his frustration on a player, and let us down in the process of that too.

but like i said, he already took his chance of getting back in the first team when he pulled us back in the barnsley game. And then subsequently was just jibbed off until the two minutes against swansea, which is harsh in the first place.

If he gets his chance properly and by that i mean not at the end of the game where he literally cant do a thing, i'm sure he'd take it.

But he hasn't been given a fair crack of the whip this season.
Came on for Cleverley when he was injured on 46 mins at Spurs - although he was so anonymous can understand why you don't remember it. Naismith was subbed for Rom on 70 yet in less than half the time made twice the impact...

Kone also played much better that Kev in the same game and almost scored the winner.

Think his benching after the Watford game was more to do with the ankle injury he got then - Kev had a lot of problems last winter with his ankle ligaments so probably didn't want to push it. But Mirallas did start the season as first choice left winger - just think others have shown more in their given minutes than he has, even a half fit Deulofeu was better than Kev in the Barnsley game and Naismith was probably about equal as he also scored a goal.

barkley was limping, someone had to come on. he should have come on a lot earlier, i'm not denying that. Obviously happy enough with a point, if we were losing i reckon he would have come on earlier. dela being chosen ahead of him was odd.

terrible post. he changed quite a few games last season - was my player of the season. He did it in the FA Cup vs West ham both times i believe.

He should have been thinking of the team. Tonight wasn't just a night for him to stake a claim but also to offer the squad respite and have a player of quality the manager can call upon against decent opposition. Now the manager will have to bring a player like Lennon or Deulofeu on when he needn't have had to.

He's very selfish and you cant fashion team spirit with a character like him around.

don't think he was sellfish when he's been the only one showing any desire in a couple of bad derby performances recently.

you have to play though.

When was the last time he got a run in the side ? When was the last time he started 4 or 5 games in a row ?
That his main problem, his time here has been very stop start. He seems injury prone and given his mixture of the odd rash challenge and his throwing the toys out of the pram, maybe a January parting of the ways may not be such a bad thing.

Why?

Deulofeu was better than Kev in the Barnsley game despite being far from fit. Which was probably why Mirallas was subbed on before him at the Spurs game but he did so little that people seem to have forgot he was even on the pitch. Tbf Gerard didn't do much better with his 6 mins in the same game but he did have a good international break which suggested he was on form whilst Kev didn't even play.

Despite being young and supposedly temperamental haven't seen Gerard sulk off down the tunnel when he is left on the bench after the last sub has been made whilst iirc Kev has done that twice already this season. A manager like Mourinho wouldn't tolerate that sort of behaviour - you'd be off the team completely. Don't think Martinez is quite that strict but perhaps he is trying to get the message across that it is a team rather than individual game and you need to wait for your chances patiently and take them when they come.

Gerard also did a very nice track back and recovery tackle vs Swansea....without getting any card so would imagine he has jumped ahead of Mirallas in the order.

He was one of our better performers against Barnsley, yet ended up on the bench the following week again.

He played 110 minutes of that game, around-a-bouts, and we were going to Spurs, with Kone in decent form when playing that role of getting up top alongside Lukaku. Plus Cleverley was fit. It's horses for courses.

He'd have played tonight if he hadn't got himself sent off with a silly tackle. Not malicious or a stamp, but lazy and was always going to run the risk of a red.
