Kevin Mirallas

We might make Champions League and still lose players, depending on who comes in for them.

As the players came back on at half time last night, I noticed Mirallas standing on the edge of the pitch giving each player a quick shake hands or a pat of encouragement.
It didn't seem like the attitude of a player that is isolated and wants out.

I think the truth may be simpler.
The manager has a formula at the moment that is really working from an attacking perspective.
Kone, Barkley, Lukaku and Deulofeu are absolutely flying and it is hard for anybody to break in past that group.

Lennon is seeing even less gametime than Mirallas. In time opportunities will come for other players and until then they need to be patient. I am sure that even though they may not like it but they can see why certain players are picked every week.

The other issue is if Mirallas leaves to try to get in the Euros squad we're down an additional decent player (not that he'd stay in that scenario)

Martinez: We will sell Mirallas to help his international career
Everton boss Roberto Martinezhas said that he is happy to help players progress their international careers even if it means selling them.

The Blues’ boss said that a player like Kevin Mirallas– who is not playing regularly for Everton – needs to think about what impact that will have on his selection for the Belgian side in the European Championships next summer.

He cited John Heitinga and Nikica Jelavic as examples of players he has sold in the past who have then got into their national side again and played in major tournaments.

The real question, though, still remains unanswered. Why is Kevin Mirallas not playing for Everton?

“I am not here to keep everyone happy, I am here to keep a level of consistency on the pitch and to provide clarity so that every player knows what his role is,” he explained.

“Some players who say they need to move on because they are not playing enough games really mean that they know the players getting picked ahead of them are better.

“Some have more personal reasons. Kevin Mirallas, for instance, needs to think about how not playing for Everton might affect his selection for the Euros next summer. You have to try and help someone in that situation, if he needs to be playing. We have helped players in the past. Nikica Jelavic had it in his head that he wanted to play against Brazil in the last World Cup. You can’t really deny a player an ambition like that.

“Brazil had Croatia first up and Mario Mandzukic was suspended. We let him go in January and he started against Brazil in the summer. We had a fantastic deal of £6.5m [with Hull]. It all made sense. It was the same with Johnny Heitinga. Louis van Gaal told him he would not be considered if he was not playing for a club, so we allowed him to go toFulham. He wasn’t playing with us and it was only fair.”

Martinez has basically red flagged Naismith, Mirallas and McGeady for any club interested as available to buy over the past few days, makes you wonder if he knows someone is available at the right price and he's trying to get the money to push ahead with it

My thoughts exactly

Very odd today...put in a mcgeady type performance.

Looks like he's definitely off in Jan and perhaps his agent has something lined up already....

Not a nice push on him by their player.
