Mate, Mykolenko is on £50k per week, our wage bill is insane, we just chuck money at crap players, god knows what some of are other players are actually on. It wouldn't be so bad but because our turnover is so low it eats up like 80% of it when that number needs to be down nearer 60-70%
He was pre thelwell you know and there's still every chance he has a relegation clause included too. We just don't know. I'm not saying we aren't paying silly wages, we obviously are but I think since thelwell had come in, there's been a clear attempt to lower the wage bill, with one eye on the championship. No insider knowledge just my opinion on what I've seen so far.

No doubt in my mind that Tarkowski, maupay, McNeil, garner will all be useful players in a championship season.

It's not his job to though. His job is to appoint a recruitment team to do that, at the moment we have no head of recruitment, it should have been one of the first roles filled when he came in but he chose to start messing about with the youth team. As DoF he is nothing more than a large scale project manager simply making sure the left hand works with the right and coordinating the various departments, so yes he is an administrator.

….ultimately he has to make a decision on who to sign, so it is his job to recognise talent that meets the Managers requirement. Indeed, you would hope the DoF has a network of contacts in other clubs across the world.

He’ll clearly be reliant on his staff but you want him to have a good record in the transfer market.

The fact that we failed to bring in a striker until well after the season started borders on gross negligence. The fact we brought in Maupay who clearly doesn’t fit our requirement is incompetent. The fact we didn’t have an effective striker in soon after this window opened is gross negligence. The fact he brought Simms back from loan indicates he doesn’t know what he’s doing.

We don’t want an Administrator. We don’t need an Administrator. We need a DoF who knows his footballers, we need a DoF who knows which footballers fit the clubs playing strategy.

The signs are not good.

This is a very big window for Kevin Thelwell and the days are beginning to clock up in the month.

It is clear we need creative and attacking player and the players he signs need to be players that the next manager will want to play because every bit of logic would say that FL is already well into borrowed time.

My hope is that we are chasing targets which have not become known as yet as happened with Kudus but that is the optimistic view.

I expect the decision to pull the plug on FL falls largely on Thelwell and he is struggling with that and possibly talking to potential new managers and looking at their transfer targets as well as trying to get players for FL.

I would be astounded if an out of work manager like Dyche has not already seen every minute of football played by Everton this season and last in case the job were to come his way.

I can't believe Thelwell gets such a free ride. He has been an appalling, almost invisible DOF with no ability in the transfer market and no influence whatsoever on the overall strategy for getting teams together that actually win a game now and then.
We've seen protests to eject Moshiri, Kenwright, DBB, Graeme Sharp, Frank Lampard, the stewards, the toffee lady and the guy who paints white lines on the pitch - but this joker gets off scot-free.
Thelwell out.

Dear Kevin,
Please buy a striker. We have had three prime ministers since we bought one.

Easiest job in football he’s got

Does nothing and doesn’t get questioned

Easiest job in football you say , does nothing and doesn’t get questioned . Graeme likes this .

The funny thing is, the wages awe've been putting new players on since last summer are a big reduction on what we were paying before that apparently
