He would have recommended Vinagre for sure as well. So even if we give him the benefit of doubt, his transfer record so far is very very patchy
True but then I could also argue I have no idea if Vinagre is actually good or not because he never played! All we know is Frank didn’t fancy him over Myko (which sounds pretty damming but who knows if Frank was wrong!)

Seriously though it’s worrying if Thelwell also fails. So Walsh Brands and Thelwell are all complete idiots and couldn’t keep us from relegation battles? And Koeman Allardyce Silva Ancelotti Benitez and now Lampard all don’t know what they’re doing?

Something is seriously seriously wrong at the club. There’s just no way they can all be incompetent.

Were they Thelwell's choices, though?

The big problem for us as fans is that we don't know.

The club has never been clear on roles and responsibilities - which is one of our biggest issues as a football club. The club keep accountability vague and to themselves, so they don't have to face any properly-focused criticism.
To be fair I don't really have a major issue with us as fans not knowing who's responsible for what, as long as it's clear to everybody who's actually involved. Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure that's the case either.

That's a fair perspective, but of course it means we can't have informed discussions about it, and it means we remain frustrated and unclear about what is actually wrong.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong I wish we did have clarity on it. I just mean it's not really important for us to have clarity from the outside if everything is working well, it only becomes an issue when it isn't, and we want to know who to blame.

My understanding over the summer was that it was a 3-man brains trust (Thelwell, Lampard, BK) all working together on transfers.

Yeah, they pitch it always in interviews that Lampard and Thelwell decide together. Which I guess is how it should be, but it means we don't know why McNeil or Maupay happened.

At least it's actually the DoF in charge of getting the right man in for once rather than Bill or Farhad. Have faith guys, for once a footballing person might make a footballing decision at this club.

The same footballing person that sanctioned McMaupay (as I’ve now christened those x2 oxygen thieves signed over the summer) though!
