I could well be wrong in the long term, but I feel that he’s done an okay job. Ultimately he’ll be remembered for being a failure if he goes following this, but I don’t think he’s the problem.

I’ve seen enough in who we’ve targeted, to think he’s on the right path, but how can you do your job when the owner, chairman and a super agent are blocking you.

If I was him, I’d resign.

I honestly can't see how anyone can sit here, as we are currently 19th in the league, with not one player brought in when we were in desperate need for reinforcements, when the board only 2 weeks ago tried to chuck the Everton fanbase under a bus, say that anyone at Everton football club is doing an ok job

Not one person, from the owner, the board, the DoF, the squad are doing an ok job.

ok isn't good enough and we certainly aren't ok in any form.

We evidently had some money, hence signing Onana, Maupay, Garner…

But in January, we’ve had nothing, and it shows. Footballers talk. Why would you come to Everton, take your pride away from it, why?

It’s a circus. It’s toxic. Players don’t develop here, the atmospheres toxic. There’s immense pressure. The boards a joke, we’re going backwards.

We can have as much time as we want, but the reality is, when you’re hamstrung by an incompetent board, who want to dip their toes in st every opportunity, previous regimes ruining any possible development plans, then how well can you do your job?

Someone here said, if he wanted to make a statement, he’s resign because Everton are letting him down.

TBF this isn't certain - we've a lot of recent history of players being bought, improved and then sold on. We've even done it recently with Onana. The key thing with them though was that we bought players who could be improved, not "finished articles" like Iceland, Walcott, Maupay, Tosun etc who end up as millstones.

You are right though about the board. Personally, if Thelwell has told the board not to pay over the odds for anyone in January because its historically a bad time for us to buy players and they listened to him then I think there is an awful lot of sense in that. However its more likely the money has just disappeared and they will blame Thelwell for it to try and appease the mob.

As @Connor said earlier, the lengths some people are going to just to defend him is ludicrous.

He's crap. Our recruitment team are crap. Our owner is an idiot. Our board are crap.

Thelwell isn’t on the board. Thelwell didn’t make any false promises, Thelwell didn’t falsely accuse anyone.

Thelwell got absolutely nothing to help aid our survival. Ok is not good enough, you’re right. I stopped short of saying good.

We’re going down, but feel the problems don’t lie with him. Give him a budget, where we don’t have to sell our best players, and that’s where I’ll e critical when it goes wrong.

You're not wrong but we just have no evidence to actually suggest Thelwell is a capable DoF.

All the evidence in his 11 months here so far suggests otherwise.

We all know the problem sits above him, like we did with Lampard. And that's true. But I don't think we can say with any certainty he isn't also part of the problem. He might be trying to fix things, in fact he clearly is, but it's not working.

The problem with this analysis is that the owner and board being crap is all that is needed. Brands was not crap. Carlo was not crap, but both were made to look crap at times by the owner and the board.

Thelwell doesn't speak, which is another thing.

Come out and speak to the fans. Stop letting your manager front it up.

They've put their foot on the pedal and have speeded up the inevitable fall into the abyss.

The board mirror the squad - A bunch of misfits with no passion, pride or desire to demand better of themselves and those around them.
