So move on to alternatives like any other club would do. We still had a week and seemed to not have a clue what to do.
There are no valid excuses for not getting anyone. No other club in this league brings in over 100m on attackers and ends up in this bad a position
Actually that’s not at all what happened, what happened is he got here on the Friday, had his medical, signed his end of the paperwork, did a club interview saying how much he wanted to fight to keep us in the league, and before we had the final bit of paperwork handed over from his team we decided to send him home and clock off for the weekend. Then we lost a match, sacked the manager and his agent belled Levy to bail him out of here. He should’ve been an Everton player watching the West Ham game from the stands, potentially even on the bench.

We were trying to rebuild the defence and midfield. Clearly it was thought Calvert Lewin might be able to play football at some point and we are not loaded with money so that we can go on wild spending sprees. Also something which needs to be remembered is that a lot of the cheaper foreign type options that could easily do a job for us, we are just not going to go in for those types simply because we tend to go down the PL experience route sad as it is. Hopefully when a certain person is not overseeing our transfer business that changes.

Based on that video, id guess maybe? Not a very impressive highlight reel and 0 goals this season in Germany isnt exactly an endorsement. Might work better as a target man tho, i know nothing about him except hes already losing his hair at 28, not a sign of virility.
The bar is Neal Maupay though.
That's the way it looks to me, he is not like Steve Walsh from the looks of it.
Looks like he will manage the structure.

Well there you go. Reliant on a striker who gets injured boiling an egg.
Abysmal neglect and the reason we are bottom of the goals scored table.
I can assure you he’d have been 10x more useful than Maupay. He’s not even great he was just cheap, available and fits a glaring skill set we have missing up top.

And we were awful in the loan market too. The Gordon transfer didn't even change our policy really apart from other clubs upping their fees.
We had disharmony at board level. They didn't know what to do with Lampard. In turn that left the DoF with no idea. We left it late and brought in another manager with a week to go. The dynamic and any "plan" was changed overnight.
Worst ran club in the league
You’d have thought we’d have learned that this strategy wasn’t going to work after we tried it last season and it nearly got us relegated.

Youre probably right, Maupay is wasting space when not playing off a main striker, and we dont have one he can play off of. Such an odd deal.

Whoever signed Maupay needs to be sacked for Gros Negligence and taken to court....
I thought Rondon was useless but this guy is next level useless.... What would the drop off be playing Simms instead of Maupay? There wouldnt be one, may as well give Simms games to adjust, at least he has proven he can score goals and is big enough to have a presence.

It is difficult to judge his performance without knowing the financial strictures he has been operating under.
He has arrived at a club already in perpetual crisis with no discernible identity in playing style caused in part by a risible managerial turnover.
Both Brands and Thelwell are experienced and respected DoF’s , I would suggest if they have failed to thrive in this environment then the problems lie elsewhere in our clearly dysfunctional club.
If our club was a building, it would be one in which decades of neglect have resulted in its structure being allowed to rot the core.
Doesn’t matter how good the tradesmen are you bring in to fix it , the whole edifice is beyond repair. It needs razing down to the foundations and a total rebuild.
