So you think it’s fine to have one option and no alternatives whatsoever
I never said that, we should have sacked Lampard before the World Cup and had someone in so they could have been working with the squad and when the window opened been ready to go with the new manager and targets and the Gordon thing sorted at the start of the window and not the end. We are a shockingly run club and it goes far higher than Thelwell, he just seems an easy target for me, doesn't even have the final say on transfers does he, he is little more than a glorified project manager.

We were trying to rebuild the defence and midfield. Clearly it was thought Calvert Lewin might be able to play football at some point and we are not loaded with money so that we can go on wild spending sprees. Also something which needs to be remembered is that a lot of the cheaper foreign type options that could easily do a job for us, we are just not going to go in for those types simply because we tend to go down the PL experience route sad as it is. Hopefully when a certain person is not overseeing our transfer business that changes.

Of course. But by November and the world cup, every focus should've been getting a striker/attacker in. Thelwell had 3 months and failed.

If he doesnt have final say then his role is pointless and there's no point keeping him

Based on that video, id guess maybe? Not a very impressive highlight reel and 0 goals this season in Germany isnt exactly an endorsement. Might work better as a target man tho, i know nothing about him except hes already losing his hair at 28, not a sign of virility.
The highlight reel shows you what Maupay will never be - an actual striker.

Not to the level of @Nymzee & RBL with Schalke myself but I like them and I like (don't @ me I know) watching them - he's got actual presence and presses quite well, fights and wins/holds the ball up more often than not. Literally a Dyche striker.

Now, that said, he's not the most amazing quality, but as Mike said - the bar is literally very low as it's Maupay, so he'd do a lot better and I'm 100% sure of it.

Why did we need Lampard sacking to know we needed forwards? Such a pansy excuse.

Correct me if i am wrong but isnt that a DOF duty? I thought that was a big part of the role. I remember the DOF at brighton, the one who is now at Newcastle in an interview state part of the job is to keep the day to day duties of recruitment ticking over even if a manager is not in place.

We didn't, but he is a huge part of the reason we are in this mess. I have never seen a manager more out of their depth. People at the club made the mistake of thinking Calvert Lewin could play football again.

Its clear he recruited for 3 at the back / 2 up top:

Vinagre (wing back)
Coady (renowned for playing in back 3)
Maupay (2nd striker / not a target man)

We start the season with 3 at the back - DCL isnt fit so its 343 not 352 but then Lampard changes it to 433 in a matter of games.

Maupay and Coady look bad in Lampards set up and Big Kev gets the blame you couldn't make it up.

The fact he targeted both Kudus & Danjuma is encouraging as both are the sort of profile we should be looking at.

Rome wasn't built in a day - patience is required now we have an experienced man in the dugout.

Sadly he'll not get it as most seem more bothered about his appearance and him supporting LFC as a kid to have any kind of nuanced view of the situation.

Not really sure why you’re bringing managers up. Lampard or Pep in charge we needed forwards and whoever was our manager doesn’t change that.

Sack Kev and give me the job. I promise I'll sell all our players easily and replace them with loads of wonderkids for cheap that I've scouted on FIFA and football manager.

I'll post loads in the transfer thread with videos of players you've never heard of and analysis from Tifo IRL.
If we’re going down we might as well make it entertaining, right? #Jebus4DoF

Saying that did buy fm23, when Dyche became manager, and played his 442 tactic, 21 points on the table before world cup break.
