And cost £25 millions which is money we didnt have in January.

Maupay also scored 16 gols in his last 2 seasons yet is trash.

You and I both know had we signed Chris Wood the same fans who were moaning when we were linked to an actual slotter in Danny Ings would have been bellowing as per:

"Wot! Wood, Tarkowski, Mcshitt, Dyche we've become Burnley lite ffs!"

No matter what we do the bedwetters will always be crying about something its embarassing lol
Tbh I am past caring about the club, it's a basket case that seems to want to eat itself and just when they can't screw up even more they manage to achieve it.

Gols hey

You can both have the last word lads.

I have a day filled with lazing about watching football.

He’s not to blame. The board are, the way the club is run makes it difficult for anybody to be effective at their job.

It’s a total dereliction of duty that he relied upon an injury prone Calvert Lewin to carry our attack and this January it was criminal we didn’t sign a striker when everyone bar Therwell thought we needed one. Ultimately it will probably cost us our premier league status. The club has made a number of wrong decisions in recent years, but not getting a striker is up there with our worst decisions.

@ForeverBlue92 The keyboard experts aren't earning thousands of pounds a week to be able to come up with these names, Thelwell is. Maupay and McNeill cost big money, Big Kev' should have perhaps used that money to bring in a striker. We made a bid for Beto on deadline day, allegedly, why on earth wait until deadline day? No way a club sell a player just before the window closes unless they have to.

I am not convinced by Thelwell at all, he just smells a bit of Kenwright to me.

Its not that simple tho - both Burnley and Brighton accepted payments on the drip which is why we couldn't get a deal done for Cornet.

So on that basis if we did identify a top drawer £35-40 million striker who slots for fun - who on earth would let us sign him on the drip ?

And thats the issue its not just the funds its the fact Big Kev has been limited to stringent deals. No matter how much he is handsomely paid he cant improve our finances with a wave of a wand.

We're all frustrated with the squad's lack of quality up top but this has been down to years of poor recruitment. Sacking him doesn't achieve anything it just causes further upheaval.

Give him the dough and trust the process I say.

Over the last 30 odd years we have made some shocking decisions but the no striker one could be catastrophic

I said last night how the atmosphere at Goodison yesterday signified to me that apathy has set into the fan base, and I don’t blame people for it.

The atmosphere was pretty flat from the outset, with the nervousness being palpable. When the second went in, people flocked out in their droves.

It wasn’t anger on peoples’ lips; nor was it heated analysis, well apart from about Taylor. No, it was a reluctant acceptance of the situation we’re in.

Emotionally, the fan base is running close to empty, with last season taking its toll on us, and the board and club have done nothing replenish it.

Can we have another season where we pull the team over the line to safety? Worryingly, I don’t think we can, nor should we be expected to do so.

We went home last night, sighed and almost accepted our likely fate. And this is coming from a fan who last year believed from the outset we’d never go down.

Did anybody say he should have signed a top striker who slots for fun? I think what people are saying is that he should have got a competent centre forward who leads the line well and scores a few, you know, someone like Calvert Lewin, the man he should have been brought in to cover for.

Doubt we will ever know what we had to spend, especially in January. Ings seemed the most obvious choice but apparently we could only offer a loan. He may be doing a crap job, he may be working in the perimeters he was given

Why on earth wait until deadline day ??? We didnt wait until deadline day, we spent all window tying to get players but not wanted to be a part of Everton.
You say why on earth wait until deadline day, what did you want him to do, stop trying with 48 hours to go?
