DOF and Chairman negotiate however Thelwell is the main man in the process.

The deal goes to the Chairman to finalise who then hands it to the owner to sign off Moshers said that himself in that interview.
Apart from, you know, the fact that he didn't have anything to do with us selling Gordon and wasn't involved in any of those negotiations.

He's acting as point of contact which is a good step forward, but the process around him is still an issue.

He's also just coming across as increasingly clueless, from things I've heard.

If we go down, he's a big reason in it.

Tark is a complete mess. His passing in the derby game was atrocious. As for Onana, can't help feeling the same.
That is something Keane is better at than the rest of our defence, distribution. But he looks at the moment like his confidence is shattered and it will take him games to get back up to scratch.

With respect thats all hearsay mate.

I dont doubt that the structure we operate is outdated but thats on the Chairmans doorstep not the fella just trying to do his job.

what have you heard?

Wolves fans once made a petition to request for him to be dismissed, granted it only reached under 400 signatures. It’s interesting in that it states

“also the failure to sign a striker in January when none of our forwards have been in any kind of form”

Without knowing the remit you don’t know the job he is doing. If he had unlimited resources he would have signed a striker. If Lampard wasn’t sacked at the point he was we would have signed Danjuma.
If quality was not an option we could have signed anyone.
if we signed some crap he would still be scrutinised.
He is doing his job with an arm tied behind his back.

That’s right I don’t know what fully goes on , it’s collective responsibility not just on him.

At what point does it stop being the director of footballs fault. Just this the third and non of them seem to do nothing or have influence

Impossible to judge Thelwell until we know he has been given a full remit to operate the DoF role.
We already have the testimony of Brands about the difficulty of operating in the Byzantine structure of Everton.
We have had years of independent observers and commentators who have dealings with our club citing the confused nature of their dealings, with our club.
I wonder what role Sharp was promoted to the board to fulfil?
My suspicion is that he operates as Kenwrights unofficial DoF effectively acting to undermine and weaken Thelwells position.
