Because he’s ‘family’

This is kind of true, no top DOF is coming just like no top manager and no decent players would come in January.

despite the fact that they all came under a weird period of time for us with no clear vision, it still matters that people like Koeman, Ancelotti, James, Lampard, Delle Ali, Mina, Lukaku, Eto'o, etc etc chose to come to Everton. Of course they got paid well, and they didn't end up being successful, but they still had pride to either build careers or a desire to show their quality. Now I am also afraid that top DOFs and Managers, or even 'up and coming' Moyes/Martinez/ Silva types will not come to us, and clubs like Brighton, West Ham, Wolves, Fulham are more attractive jobs for people to build or resurrect careers.

It will be yard dogs who specialise in hoofball. If you think Dyche is signing young players, especially attacking ones, you haven’t been watching his management of Patterson/simms/mills this season
youth players will be on 5k per week

yard dogs will be on 50k per week

we can't afford to pay yard dogs from the prem in the championship hence why clubs like burnley and preston sign youth prospects to get promoted

I worry if we get an embargo (It's us so we will) as he will have to rely on loans and the youth team and he just doesn't strike me as the guy to bring on and develop a group of young lads.
Yeah, exactly why I hope we don't - we have no adequate youth recruitment/team that we can bump to to first team players and any loans, if allowed, will probably be us loaning an injury prone 35 year old that plays 3 games or something.

That team had 9 players over the age of 30 in it. Keane was the youngest player at 22.
i think they had 7 players over the age of 30, 2 of which were goalkeepers

our current squad already has 2 goalkeepers over the age of 30 in begovic and lonergan

it also looks like they signed around 20 players that season and only 3 were over the age of 30 including 1 goalkeeper

the majority of the players they signed were aged 27 or under

he also paid 12 mil to sign a 24 year old andre gray and 4 mil for a 23 year old james tarkowski

How much did those play? Cuz Tarks played about 5 games his first season, didn't he?

And 24+ isn't exactly a youth prospect or giving youth a chance - those are/should be players in their prime.

Also one of those that played frequently for Burnley in that season was Joey Barton lol
