Where would the Gordon money have suddenly gone...or the Kean money?

If we had £30-36mil to use for Ismaila Sarr or £40mil+ for Gallagher then there must be £30mil+ in the budget.

Gone as in used to balance the books.

The £30-£40mill we'd have thrown about would've more than likely been structured over years (which was the case in the summer transfers also) with less up front.

Hence why nowt happened and we got accused of going to the table with money we don't have.

Keeping the lights on and the builders on site is my guess for where the money went.

Moshiri is a busted flush.

Done ok yea played his part in jan but so did alot of people, we will never fully get the story of jan. when we could spend money what board said to kevin. And more this is a massive window for us for next season he has to get this right

….I don’t care if he ‘nearly brought in Kudus’ or that Garner was good business. He has to be accountable for failing to bring in an effective striker during the two windows he’s managed.

His incompetence almost relegated us, that should never be forgotten.
Does he oversee transfer that manager has highlighted or does he instigate transfer. Not too sure what his role is on transfer.

Like to believe manager goes to him with brief on type of player and he goes and finds. In which case he may have an excuse.

It's pretty excepted now board members have influence on what players come in at times. Which obviously needs addressing.

Where I would like to see director of football take lead is on the youth set up.

Transfers are typically spread out over the length of players contract, as is FFP.

So if we want to do business with someone that would benefit both clubs FFP wise but we should be able to backload payments, Chelsea and City seem to be ideal bedfellows.

…..they should be working closely to agree priorities and the ‘type’ of players they need. The Manager can suggest certain individuals, the DoF should have an awareness of the global market. The DoF is in charge of the spend envelope & should instigate negotiations, often the Manager will talk to players concerned to try and persuade them to come.

BK should be nowhere near discussions, I don’t think the single point of contact is between Chairmen.

That's been the plan

Issue ends up being that it shortens the list of potentials purely based on clubs willing to do that kinda deal.

We only signed McNeil because Burnley wanted more upfront for Cornet for example.

They arent, transfers are generally paid in instalments, if somebody signs a 5 year contract, they dont get paid in 5 years, its normally 2 or 3 years MAX.

This is a lie. As i said, typically paid over the players contract length.

Does FFP look at cash flow or at the P&L. If cash flow then yes the installments matter.. but in terms of the P&L it’s spread evenly over the contract term, the cash flows don’t change that.

My understanding is that it’s the P&L
