Thelwell managed to sell 2 attackers for 90 million that scored a total of 4 league goals last season. Then, apparently hes going to get 7 million for Simms, and 20+ million for Gray.

Is he a genius? Seems indisputable at this point.

Very interesting potential outs with Gray, Iwobi (1yr) Gomes, Maupay, Simms, Gbamin, Dele, Keane and Holgate.

If he can shift them for 'interesting' amounts then we'd be able to move for superior level incoming players.

A Couple of quick sales could see a positive attacking incoming.

God I love a man that does bits ♡

Meanwhile Brands would have gotten a loan deal and a pack of walkers ready salted.

….I think every DoF can be brought to task, but we know that a DOF at Everton is not what we expect the role to be. When you have Moshiri saying to Brands ‘bring Rondon in as a present for Benitez’, it clearly demonstrates the problem.

Brands was diplomatic enough to work WITH managers. He brought in who they wanted but suggested others to meet requirements (Doucoure for Ancelotti). It was only when Benitez arrived and refused to even pick up the phone to Brands that the mad house turned into a sinking ship.

Brands had the diplomacy to keep the warring factions together because he was popular. It’s no coincidence that when Brands left the club started to fall apart. Problems off field ultimately transition to problems on it.

Nobody can defend the indefensible with Thelwell. He’s described himself as a ‘Line Manager’, not a football man. We all highlighted our central striker problem 18 months ago yet we are still in the same situation now. He was culpable for our performance last season, he should be accountable for the situation the club is in.

This man love you have is more than a little weird now, especially as he hasn’t actually done anything but make the squad weaker

Ludicrous shout that.

Our defence and Midfield are both stronger since he arrived and I'll hazard a guess we'll finish this summer window with a stronger attack than what we've had post Ancelotti also.

There's no accountability for anything from anyone at our club. Thelwell is so 'under the radar' that he's practically flatlined, totally anonymous and a threat to the club via his negligent lack of productivity.

Accordingly, how on earth can he expect to source and push through transfers with any degree of respect from the hierarchy at professionally competent clubs. He can't. Yet the Omerta still shields him ...until, hopefully, someone has the guts to cough to this recurring shambles.
