Job of a dof is not only identifying targets but also to convince them to join us above anybody else. In fact today is relatively easy to identify players with good prospects, what's more difficult is convinced them that we are their best option. And this is where this guy is failling for me. We keep missing out on player after player...the ones that we are still in talks to are not overly keen to join us and so putting zero pressure in their clubs to sell. We need somebody with a name recognisable internationally with charisma.

We had that with big bad Marcel Brands - another who wasn’t allowed to do his job, just like Thelwell.

No point changing DoF until the entire issue of the owner and chairman is sorted and they are gone - they are the mill stones around our necks, dragging us down.

I still struggle to get my head around what credentials he has to put players on the pitch at clubs this level. Never made the grade at playing level. He might have all the FIFA badges but i still class that as an academic achievement. I think anybody could get them with dedication. Doesnt mean you can spot players. Unless it sticks out like a sore thumb that a DOF has an eye for it i still have my doubts. He's been doing this for over 20 years. Does anything he's done say he's very successful.
