Another joker in a lonnnggggg list of jokers employed by moshiri.

Looking at our squad anyone could have told you we needed a striker/winger lined up for day one of the market, a third of the way through and no strong links with anyone. Absolute mess of a club

Will add while McNeil is massively underwhelming...he's 23, on low wages, and can be seen to be sold on in the future. He's not going to be difficult to maneuver if it doesn't pan out. He's not putting the club in a difficult position.

In comparison to 90% of the previous transfers where 25+ years of age and £100k a week flops have been the killer.
Is he on low wages? Do we know that?

Also, who is going to pay even half of what we paid for him?

He looks out of his depth at this level, which means interested clubs are likely going to be clubs who will struggle to afford him. I think we are really going to struggle moving him on because I'm guessing he's on a good top flight level salary on a long term deal.

The situation is pathetic but I’m not convinced it’s his fault
For all we know he could have given the board 50 viable options at various price points and he’s just waiting for money to be freed up

He may also be crap and his big plan was recalling Simms but I doubt it…

I wouldn't be too sure on that. He's young and he could still improve to a level where he's a reasonable option for us, but if he doesn't then I can't see him being easy to move on. If he fails here he's effectively failed as a PL player after last season, and there won't be many teams outside the PL who pay the sort of wages we do. He might not be on the sort of crippling wages that others have drained from us, but he's likely to be getting paid enough to prevent a transfer to the majority of clubs who'd be interested in him.

The McNeil deal reminds me of Aiden McGeady in some ways. I can see him spending the last few years of his contract on loan in the championship with us covering 90% of his wage, he'll then leave and never play at this level again.

Walsh, Brands and Thelwell.
Still no idea whether they or the managers picked and signed the players.
Never been convinced that a DoF works at Everton, especially with our board.

Then what is the point of him.
Why would they employ him to give them a list of players they can’t sign.
It's the board that are the problem and the fact that they want the final say on everything hence they inserted this 'technical board' of Kenwright/DBB which is responsible for negotiations/contracts rather than just let the football people get on with the football stuff.
