I will probably get flak for this , but I think that he is doing a decent job.
We need to factor in the financial constraints that he is working under , which no other previous incumbent of the post has endured.
He is also working under the hindrance of having no autonomy of decision making , having to get everything past the albatross around our necks , that is Kenwright.
He seems to be thinking more "out of the box" than the previous DoF's , and certainly seems to be targetting a younger player with potential , on lower wages , and with some resale value.

I think even the albatross is out of the equation right now probably making his job a lot easier

Everyone said Brands “won the transfer window” by signing Andre Gomes and Bernard.

You said we weren't even signing him last week mate. We will see how he turns out. Bernard was a terrible footballer and I was upset we signed him at the time.

I do see your point, but it was pure negligence leaving us without a forward last season. In turn it nearly got us relegated, with him essentially putting all his eggs in one basket, moreover he has already cost us 6 points this season with how slow we have moved in the market.

I was not a Brands fan but this is way too early. Thelwell only signed a striker after we lost three games with some of the most dire forward play the premier league has ever seen. I'm hopeful Beto will be really good, but we need to see him play first.

It's not an endorsement of Thelwell, who is also not very good at his job.

But not even Carlo Ancelotti could move that team forward the following season. It was all so very short lived, and fell apart very quickly.
