2024/25 Kevin Thelwell

All of the “opinions” here regarding Thelwell are IMO mood point depending on what comes next. We need 4 more wins and a couple of draws this season and all is good and forgiven even for those who are not a bit happy right now .. Also accept no point signing bad players and overpriced players just to make up the numbers . The other scenario is a couple of injuries and bad performances and we will be back to the moaning “how did we allow this to happen” situation which nobody wants to.. For me it boils down to this … Have we done enough to guarantee premiership football ? If you think answer is Yes then all is good provided we get whats needed .. if your not sure then answer is no and Thelwell and his recruitment team have failed .. The 3 wins Moyes has achieved for me should be enough but i think we have taken a big gamble here…!

Everton require 4 more points to secure premiership status. I.e., 30 points with decent goal difference.

100% mate...Moyes has said he doesn't mind working under a DOF which personally I don't buy especially given he was butting heads with the geezer at West Ham.

He'll want complete control over who's coming in and out the door which means Thelwell is redundant.

You probably find he's currently looking up his contacts in the game for potential future employment.
Tbf West Ham have binned off that DoF as soon as they they got Potter in. Almost like both things could be true - Moyes doesn’t mind working with one, provided they’re decent.

You know other DoF only have 3-4 times the returns on their players, while we have boasted a solid 1.5 times the returns for almost all our assets. It is commendable, and are we ostensibly gonna say most of our players are not valued? We need to aim for the dizzying heights of McNeil and Ndiaye even if their market value is not so good.

I would still give him time. Hands tied behind his back with little net spend over the last couple of years not allowing him to get his prime targets and having to do with probably 3rd or 4th choice players even then depending on structure of payment. He and Dyche seemed to be at loggerheads over targets with Dyche ignoring some of his signings. Hopefully he and Moyes can have more of a partnership as Thelwells signings are looking a bit better under Moyes due to being a far superior coach/manager. Lets see if they can work together
