Most will dismiss this out of hand, but I think they penciled in Patterson at RB and Mykolenko at LB, with the old guys as backups. It's still an area that is sorely lacking, even if all four were healthy.

Yes we did but I guess it depends on whether you’re signing a first team free signing, or a free signing to step in as and when required, I’d be surprised if anyone actually thought he’d become a regular first teamer, more a squad player but Dyche loves him

I struggle with these Dof a lot. So many seem to just accept its the way of football now. And it probably is. But we had Brands before. No experience at all outside of the eredivisie, putting players in the pitch for Everton. Now this fella. He's got all the coaching badges. He's written a few coaching books. I think he even managed Derby County for two days after the manager was sacked. And yet he's allowed to sign players for Everton. Why? To me its absolute bonkers. You might aswell let davek sign them. And i think we are now seeing a clear indication that he and Dyche dont exactly think along the same lines on whats needed. Thelwell should be clearing his desk for Beto alone. Honestly i feel like slapping him and saying wtf were you looking at when you said yes to that transfer.
Give me the old days of Moyes the manager signing players all day long and ditch this madness.
