If you can't dictate at a lower level then you have no chance in a higher one. A loan is what he needs, would get nowhere near our side at present and be further behind in the pecking order if Barkley stays.

If he does not make it is will not be through a lack of footballing talent. Forest did not play well in that first half but the few occasions Dowell did get possession you could see the technique and vision. The lack of speed and work rate is a concern.
