I think Koeman could have gone through a full on adoption programme, but Barca could still have pulled the lad back.

Plenty of stuff to boot Koeman with, Barca wanting the player wasnt down to him.
I dont know the ins and outs of it, tbh. But do you think if Koeman had asked his former club who he did so much for to let us retain him they'd have turned him down?

My guess is they asked if he really wanted him and the answer that came back was "Nah".

Not a clue mate.

But I reckon that if they wanted him back, not sure an ex player pleading to keep him would make an iota of a difference.

Proceed with caution.
Indeed. But he’s with Forest until the end of the season and he’ll continue to have some average games and some excellent games, and most importantly learn to play and be involved for the full 90 minutes , as that has been his biggest weakness as many Forest fans have pointed out in their own threads.

At times people either don’t know or conveniently forget Dowell’s past history when they make comments about him being wasted in the U23s last season or should have gone on loan. Anybody who saw him this time last year or read the reports of the U23s games will know he was going through a big dip in form right up until Christmas , it was put down to adjusting to a growth spurt / injuries but it took him until Jan/ Feb time to really start playing again. This time last year he would not have started in a Championship side.
Anyway I’m just going to enjoy performances like tonight, Mark Warburton will look after him and he’ll return a far better player.

We just need to care for these young guns.

You can see people turning on Davies already after a few not so great games. It will be Kenny next you can be sure. And of course there’s Barkley.

Perhaps it’s better for Dowell to be where he is for now.

I saw one of his goals st half time what a goal - pure class the Koeman could not spot it!
