Thankfully at that point he will be back laying cones.
I'm sorry I taught you that insult.
Haven’t seen the Unsworth quote , but I posted elsewhere that EFL rules allow for a “recall clause” to be inserted into season long loans , these can only be activated during the January transfer window. Joe Williams at Barnsley apparently has one too and Liam Walsh's loan ends in January. My point is that we are very unlikely to bring all three back .Unsworth confirmed today that this loan can be looked at again in January.
I expect that numbnuts decision to send him out to be rectified and he'll be in a blue shirt and available for the first team at that point.
He'll be playing for us in the championship tearing it up mateThankfully at that point he will be back laying cones.
Apparently all parties have to give it the ok for the loan to be ended. Not a problem I wouldn't have thought.Haven’t seen the Unsworth quote , but I posted elsewhere that EFL rules allow for a “recall clause” to be inserted into season long loans , these can only be activated during the January transfer window. For Dowell it may depend on a number of things , particularly who the manager is come January. If it’s Unsworth he’s been clear in the past that the plan for Dowell included a loan period. Equally he knows Dowell’s capabilities better than anyone and his usual loan preference has been a 5 month period, mainly Jan-May in the past. If it’s someone from outside , then come January he’ll be looking to bring in some players of his own.
We’ve debated his loan enough and it is what it is. The major positives are that he’s now strong enough to play a full 90 minutes, and he’s been able to show what he can do in the central position - for us and for England he’s been played on the right , cutting back inside to use his left foot. If he does return in January he’ll be a better player than the one who left.

Overall, there's a "one size fits all" attitude to loaning out young players and it's pretty daft. Some players might get a boost from a loan deal. Coleman to Blackpool was good because it gave him plenty of game time at RB when Moyes was still relying on the likes of Hibbert and Phil Neville. But we saw how much Barkley was wasted in his loan periods in lower divisions.
This lad will play better with better players around him. He's that type. He relies on other intelligent players making clever runs in order to shine himself. Maybe he's got game time experience and confidence from slotting a few down there. But if he'd have been here this season he'd have seen less game time but I'd say he'd have had an impact. And if he did just one thing, whether scoring himself or assisting one, that would have been worth more to us in the mess we're in than seeing him run rings around second rate defences.
He's class and he we haven't had him at our disposal. It's criminal. That has to end in two months time.
...worth a try.
Can’t wait til we play him up front

We have some front running talent in the team. We need a leader up there with them though.Sadly there's a distinct lack of clever running in the current bunch which might help him.
Shame.
