Michael.

How good were our results after he was injured...
Results also improved after Gana went to AFCON, Snides and Davies came into the side, and Ashley Williams and Jags settled in as a pair. Right now no one would drop Gana, Snides can eff off, Davies has been poor this season, and Williams/Jags partnership would be disasterous. And yet you want to pinpoint a turn in form last year was to Bolasie's injury? I'll give you that it made Koeman evaluate style of play differently as he couldn't rely on Yannick, but that's 100% more due to his management than Bolasie as a player. For his part, he was one of our better players last season before his injury.

See Bolasie has hijacked poor Kieran's thread....the perils of going off on loan.

For all that Bolasie is and isn't, he does one thing well that this team is lacking - running at teams at full bore. Not to say that's the answer to all things but Everton are desperately missing that these days.

...as a wide player Dowell is very much in the Sheedy mould. Sheedy wasn’t a fast or tricky winger, he rarely went past his full back but was very effective. Indeed, Dowell probably moves with the ball better than Sheedy.

I agree that no10 might be his best position but at this point in time I honestly think he’d be our best option on the right side given his excellent link play with Kenny. It’s unlikely he’ll be recalled in January and he might find himself out of the reckoning if others are brought in.

He's twenty, playing his first full season in one of the toughest & most energy sapping league's in Europe; play Saturday, Tuesday & repeat, is his team's top goalscorer and has a live televised hat trick to his name. It's been a dream loan move for Dowell and yet any complaint is about his languid style.

I get he can drift out a game, seen that - great point if you're expecting him to be Messi (he's not) - but what he has got is that rare commodity which is to make the game look easy with a passing range and vision that very few possess. Under Warburton he has thrived in a side that is mid table at best. It's a better loan move than say Pennington at Leeds who can't break the Pontus Jansson Cooper partnership or Galloway & Browning at Sunderland.

He'll come back hopefully ready to press his clams in pre-season and he certainly offers a creative option that at times we sadly lack. Good luck to him!

Browning is doing fine now at Sunderland, MoM recently. He’s different from Dowell as he’s probably playing to find his next club. I’ve read a lot of the Forest fans comments this season , and they seem to be pretty fair, recognising his skill and his deficiencies. While like all football fans their opinions will vary , they have been watching him in the flesh unlike us who’ve just caught the tv bits, so it would be foolish to dismiss them. What I’ve noted though is a gradual swell of appreciation for him, not surprising given the goals, but also a recognition of what he contributes to the team. Mark Warburton is a sound coach, he knows what he’s got and what to work on with Dowell, definitely in the best place for the rest of the season.

Clearly Dowell has an excellent understanding with Kenny. Interestingly he's the 'opposite' type of player to Lennon.

Which do you think would be the more effective partnership?

Personally id go with Dowell over Lennon every single time. My view is they wide players have to pose a threat or else you play on the back foot.

I rated him. His injury forced us to play differently and yeah it worked but especially in away games we could've accumulated more points with Bolasie in the side imo

Pickford...kicks to Bolasie
Bolasie rolls the ball under his foot
Bolasie kicks the ball and runs down the line
Head down Bolasie does a step over and looks inside
Seeing no-one he runs further down the line
Head down again...he punts the ball randomly towards the area

Where does the ball go?

Answer A: To the opposition team
Answer B: A random area of the pitch
Answer C: To the 1 or 2 outnumbered Everton forwards

Answers on a postcard.

...I have no doubt Dowell has a more effective partnership with Kenny. I have no doubt that Dowell will score more and create more than Lennon. I have no doubt that Dowell would be a more effective right sided midfielder than anybody else at the club at this point in time.

9 goals from midfield in the Championship is some achievement given how few midfielders get double figures at any level. His future at Everton might depend on who comes in.

Yeah its totally fair to compare a player who has played 72minutes in the Premier League to somebody who has performed in it week in week out for the last 5-6 years.

Im willing to bet Bolaise will have a better career than Kieran the friendly Ghost.

Very very bold statement how do you measure it.

When dowell is 28 to better Bolasie he would need to have played more than 103 premier league games have 10 goals & 17 assists.

Regardless of how much anyone rates or doesn’t rate Bolasie that’s bang average.

But its "money in da bank", 10 goals and 17 assists is pitiful, but its 10 and 17 more than Dowell has so far.

Personally ive seen it so many times its unreal, player gets talked up, player sees out his career in League One.

The only way we can judge Dowell is when hes played 10 or 20 full games in THIS league, till then its a total guess.

People have already declared him the Wool Messi.
