That type isn't he though? You know, physically slight, flair player.Mate don't put dowell in comparison with them 3.
Imagine telling any of them they had to go to gladiator school to succeed when they were 19.

You're not fit to lick his boots mate.
Absolutely (although luck - see Davies as an example - also plays a part). Fans of any club, and I'm as guilty as anyone over many years, always over-rate their own youth players.Maybe our first team prospects haven't been good enough then?
I get what you're saying but not 100% sure it is the same when you have the safety blanket of a PL academy set-up where you are highly regarded to go back to at the end of the day. (Of course, it is different for someone scrapping around on loan in the National League.)And going out on loan is playing for another club full-time.
He's behind Martina and Holgate.Dave the difference is with Coleman out injured there is a position there for Kenny to fight for
Dowell would play a bit part if any at all this season
I can guarantee you that they have toughened up plenty since their youth days. First team football requires a degree of mental toughness that youth and reserve games don't.Would you advise Juan Mata, David Silva, Mesut Ozil to 'toughen up'?
That just comes with experience from top flight play, you dont have to go out to a hoofball league to man up.I can guarantee you that they have toughened up plenty since their youth days. First team football requires a degree of mental toughness that youth and reserve games don't.
You get kicked you get back up. You make a mistake you put it behind you and don't dwell on it. All in front of thousands upon thousands of spectators who want you to have a crap game and howl and boo every mistake. That's the toughening up that's required to make it as a top player.
Ye fair enough,I do think though Dave you are going over board on the lad,I understand we all have different opinions on players, I can see were you are coming from with the lad he has a good left peg,but he is not going to get much game time here so game time somewhere else won't hurt him. That type isn't he though? You know, physically slight, flair player.

No. They simply aren't - I'm not sure of any player whose official first team debut is recorded as a friendly? And the Kras and Norwich games were 1st team games on paper only. The reality was that they had no implications for the team in the respective competitions and were played virtually free of expectation. They're all at first team level aren't they?
It's not about the hoofing or lack of silky passing movement (which incidentally is free from a huge number of top flight games where hoofing often takes precedent) but the expectations and pressures of actual competitive football. That just comes with experience from top flight play, you dont have to go out to a hoofball league to man up.
The manager cant tell me a thing about this football club...NOT one thing.
Dave now you are bordering on the ridiculous
Well then if you weren't in favour of it and thought it was a so so idea how can Dowell Learn from him. My 2main arguments for Rooneys return was his winning mentality and what he could teach the youthsNo, not really. I didn't oppose it either.

Monopoly and word game trophy don't count DaveI've won as many trophies as he has in the last decade.
