Koeman: "Barkley looking for a new challenge"

Why all the hate to Barkley? Ffs get a grip lads. He wants to move maybe because he's sick of getting booed by his so called supporters but more to the point he obviously doesn't like his manager. In any workplace if you don't your manager or how your being managed you look elsewhere that is what he is doing. Don't get the hope he flops or hope his career goes downhill. I hope he goes on to do very well. Good luck Ross. Koeman has handled this situation badly and before Xmas took every opportunity to publicly lay in to Ross. Don't remember him doing that with any other player. He needs to shoulder some responsibility for this situation.

I don't know that Koeman handled it badly. I don't really see it as clear-cut as that, and I think Ross had a decent season under him, but I don't agree with dismissing the possibility that the player just doesn't like the new boss and that there's more to the story than yet another player caring more about money/their own career than they club they grew up supporting.

If it all comes out its as simple as him being money-grabbing and not really giving a crap about the club then fine, I'd share a lot of the sentiments on this but people are really showing their bias on this story.

Dismissing the possibility of Barkley not liking the manager as just a lazy player not wanting to work, is founded on pure speculation but repeated on here like a fact.

I'm more concerned that saying he's "100% off" will have a terrible impact on his value unless we already have a deal in place with somebody.

Can we automatically threadban anyone who suggests anything like "it's because of the fans lad, they're too harsh on him mate".
As long as the same applies to anyone who says 'he's a proper greedy snake mate' without any idea what has gone on or 'he'll regret this for the rest of his life lad' when he'll probably win a trophy before we do - like all the other snakes who've left us - and spend the rest of his days surrounded by £50 notes and half naked models.

After giving him an early chance, Moyes said he wasn't disciplined enough to play a position properly (I think he said it was like Ross was playing in a park with his pals) so shipped him on loan to play games and learn.

Martinez indulged him saying do what you want and learn from your mistakes. So Ross didn't learn discipline in those 3 very important years

Koeman demands disciplined play and Ross doesn't seem to take it on board. He's 24, we don't know what his proper position is...he can't play No.10 because he doesn't seem to have the quickness of thought and he often misplaces even the simplest of passes (when he does pass), and he can't play in a proper midfield position. Can't blame Koeman for being fed up. Ross has all the talent in the world, but just doesn't deliver enough. It's a shame, but I'm glad we've got a ruthless manager.

If he's playing CL footy this season I'll be shocked tbh. He's been in an uncertain situation for a while now and not one bid or mention of real interest.
I genuinely think Spurs are prepared to forego a pre-season with him to get him on the cheap once it's one week left in the transfer window and clear that nobody else is in for him. We'll have no choice but to accept their 15million offer.

They are booing you Ross.

Sell, replace and forget. I was initially saddened that "one of our own" wanted to leave, but this has dragged on so long that I've started to not really care. As long as we do the best deal for Everton, what else can we want from this? See ya Ross, don't re- terrrrn.

If Ross does go to Spurs, the one thing we could say is it isn't money motivated. It's doubtful he'd earn as much there as he would have done here. Or certainly, not more.

It is probably a footballing decision. But you just have to wonder why.

While I kind of agree, Koeman wants Ross to stay.

Ross has rejected that offer.

This kid should NEVER be remembered fondly at GP.

Rooney was castigated by Evertonians for choosing Utd, the trophies, the money etc but the fact that the money we recouped from his transfer helped save us financially was massively underplayed.

He's been offered a fantastic contract by all accounts & we are clearly a club moving in the right direction yet he wants no part of it.

Ross Barkley is dead to me, the ****ed up fool.
