Yep there's no hiding it, this is terrible for us. It easily has the potential to be season killer for us unless we bring in two or three very good players between now and September.

We've lost the spine of our entire attack in one window. We could have afforded to lose Rom OR Ross (definitely Rom), but not both IMO.

A shame, When It all comes down to it, Were loosing an academy talent. I think he will tear up trees with Spurs and that's the shame..he doesn't want to stay to try to do the same for his own club. I presume he wasn't actually listening to Gerrard on the bus that day.

He's wanted away for ages IMO... and I would be shocked if the reason he wasn't offered a contract earlier , was because he gave the indication that he wouldn't sign one . Then it came to "crunch time" and RK just came out with it "he's been offered a contract and if he doesn't sign it he will be sold"

Why would you offer a new, improved contract if your intent was to push him out? That was my point.

Aye, maybe there's more to it - but Barkley's silence has been deafening so that's all we've got to go on.

Lukaku publically says he wants out and gets castigated for shooting his mouth off, Barkley privately says he wants out and gets pelters for not keeping us informed. Almost as if it's actually the player's decision which enrages people rather than the way they go about it.

The reason he wants to leave is the same reason that he won't ever become top class - no bottle for a fight.

Unless he spoke to the negotiating team I'd doubt he'd find that out. Koeman doesn't get involved and I doubt Ross's camp would disclose a contract they rejected.

Unfortunately, in my eyes, everything is pretty much speculation.

You mean just like the speculation that ross wanted out? And wouldn't sign his contract ?

no ill feeling towards lukaku because of the same desires, but at least he was always open about it and slated our lack of ambition a long time back. Ross on the other hand has kept quiet the whole time and this new "challenge" of his has just come from nowhere.

ah well, he can't even get in our midfield, he won't get in any champions league teams' team either so, swapping the odd 5 mins of champions league instead of waiting to see if we get there and him possibly forcing his way to be a major part of that ... wouldn't be my decision, but each to their own. As with just about every player to have left everton bar the odd few ... hope he fails miserably
